This Wednesday, it was revealed that actress and musician Selena Gomez is all set to play the iconic music legend Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic. And, now, none other than the controversial director David O. Russell has been announced to helm the film, as reported by Variety.
Currently, in the pre-production phase, the untitled biopic will be produced by John Boylan and James Keach at the production helm. This dynamic duo has a proven track record, having previously made a 2019 documentary,Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice.

Gomez teased her role earlier this week by posting a picture of Ronstadt’s 2013 memoirSimple Dreamson her Instagram story. Shortly after that, Gomez’s lead role was confirmed.
Ronstadt is a music legend in the genres of country, rock, folk, pop, and Latin, best known for her 1970s albumsHeart Like a WheelandSimple Dreamsas well as songs such asYou’re No Good,Blue Bayou, andLong Long Timeas well as her work in the group Trio alongside Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris.
