There are a seemingly endless amount of things to do in Honkai Star Rail. Like its counterpart, Genshin Impact, Honkai is chock-full of Adventure Missions, Character Quests, and tons of items and resources to collect.

After completing Honkai’s tutorial, you’ll be introduced to Herta’s Simulated Universe. By entering a virtual reality of sorts, you’ll play through a series of challenges that increase in difficulty as you progress. This guide will walk you through the basics of the game, and how to unlock each World. As new Worlds and features become available, we’ll update them here, so be sure to check back on this resource regularly.

Simulated Universe Basics

Once you have made it through Honkai’s introductory tutorial, you’ll be able to test out the beta version of the Simulated Universe. Here, you’ll face various enemies as you make your way through each area, ultimately facing a boss enemy at the end of the mission. After finishing each battle, you’ll be given a selection of Blessings to choose from, each providing unique buffs that you can take with you through the rest of the mission. After defeating the boss you’ll be awarded various items and collectibles.

After completing the beta test and reaching Trailblazer Level 14, Herta will give you access to the full version of the Simulated Universe. This comes with a series of Worlds you can take on, added challenges, options to customize your Blessings, Events, new ways to earn cosmic fragments, and rewards that you can use outside the simulation.

Simulated Universe Basics information

As you complete each of the Worlds, you’ll earn points based on your progress. As you gain more points, you’ll continue to unlock rewards like Stellar Jades, Star Rail Passes, the currency for Herta’s shop, and enhancement materials. You’ll have one week to earn all the available rewards before everything resets each Monday.

Aeons And The Simulated Universe Index

The Index is a place to monitor your progress with each of the seven Aeons in the Simulated Universe. Each Aeon represents one of the seven Paths - Preservation, Remembrance, Nihility, Abundance, The Hunt, Destruction, and Elation. Not every Aeon will be immediately available, but you’ll continue to unlock more of them and their corresponding Blessings as you complete each of the Worlds.

Each time you play through a World, different Blessings will become randomly available. When you select new Blessings in each playthrough, they’ll appear in the Index. As you collect more of each Aeon’s Blessings, you’re able to claim Stellar Jade rewards by viewing the Blessings in the Index. These rewards are specific to each of the Paths, and each Path will reward you with 80 Stellar Jades for every milestone you reach. In total, there are over 2000 Stellar Jades you can earn by collecting them all.

World Details

From the main menu, you can choose from a number of Worlds. Each of them comes with a noticeable difference in difficulty which means you will have to come back often as you level up your characters outside the Simulated Universe. As you progress through each World, you’ll navigate through a series of Domains, each of them acting as a “floor” to be conquered.

Every other Domain or two, you’ll reach a Domain Of Respite where you can recharge your characters’ health and energy, revive fallen party members, purchase equipment, and even enhance your Blessings. You can also see what enemies are in the domains ahead of you and restructure your team as needed via the Downloader. At the end of every World, you’ll face a boss. Upon defeating them, you’ll be given a variety of rewards as well as Herta Bonds, which can be used to purchase items from Herta’s shop.
