In order to stay up with the ever-increasing challenge of the game, one of the most crucial things you can do for your character is to level them up. The level of the enemy characters will continue to rise in tandem with theincrease in the equilibrium level, which will result in increased difficulty for the players in combat.
Character Level
When a character is unlocked, each of them starts with a base level and a base stat. Throughout the game, these stats and levels can be increased through several character progression mechanisms in order to make all the characters stronger to fight against the tougher opponents that come along the progress of the storyline.
Each character in Honkai Star Rail starts with Level 1 and can be upgradedup to Level 80. After upgrading to Level 80, these characters will obtain the highest individual combat stats and get in theirstrongest forms.

Nevertheless, the developers have put up a level cap for each character based on its ascension. You will need to ascend the characters further in order to increase this level cap. Every character is unlocked with abase level cap of 20. On the other hand, the level ceiling increases by ten levels whenever the character is ascended. In addition to this, yourTrailblazer Leveland Equilibrium Level will also play a role in determining how far you are able to ascend a certain character.
Unlocking traces is one method of upgrading your character level in Honkai Star Rail.Traces are a skill tree, upgrading through which will unlock several nodes and upgrade different stats of your character. These stats include skills, passive abilities, enhancements, and more. Traces can be upgraded by using several materials that you willearn by completing tasks in the gameand also by defeating enemies. You will, however, be awarded anEidolon upgradeif you continue to acquire the character repeatedly.
Light Cones
Light Cones basically serve as theweaponsthat the characters use in Honkai Star Rail. Each character can equip Light Cones to obtain extra passive abilities and enhance their combat abilities. However, each Light Cone is associated with a specific Path.
Moreover, each Light Cone can be leveled up between Level 1 to Level 80 using different materials. With the increase of each level, the stat bonuses provided by those Light Cones also keep increasing. In addition, the rarity of each Light Cone ranges fromthree starsall the way up tofive stars.

Relics can be equippedas sets to increase the character level of each character. This operates in a manner similar to that of the Artifacts of Genshin Impact.
