Further details onKojima Productions' new game are set to be revealed in 2023, according to the studio’s head,Hideo Kojima.Hideo Kojima recently took to the stage at The Game Awards, alongside Geoff Keighley, to reveal the first official trailer forDeath Stranding2, which is currently in development for the PlayStation 5. But, despite Death Stranding 2 being the next game from the mind of Kojima, the studio is hard at work on another title.Earlier this year,Xbox announced a new partnership with Kojima Productionsto “create a video game for Xbox like no one has ever experienced or seen before leveraging the power of the cloud.” Details on the new project have since been scarce, but Kojima has now gone on record to state that further details will arrive next year.READ MORE:Amazon Games To Publish Next Instalment In Tomb Raider SeriesAshort videowas published on the official Kojima Productions YouTube channel earlier today, as Hideo Kojima celebrated the studio’s 7th anniversary. The famed developer thanked fans for their support over the last seven years, before going on to state, “In addition to DS2, we are also preparing a completely new game as well as some visual projects.“Kojima then goes on to say, “I am hoping to bring you more information on all of those next year.” Now, considering Death Stranding 2 is likely at the forefront of the studios' minds, it could still be quite some time until we get any juicy details on the new IP from Kojima Productions.
A firm release date or window for the upcoming sequel to Death Stranding has yet to be confirmed by Kojima, but the director promises to give players “even more amazement and overall gaming experience than the first one.”
Kojima Productions was first established as an independent studio in December of 2015, and shortly after went on to sign an agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment to produce the studio’s first title exclusively for the PlayStation 4. That title was, of course, Death Stranding. Kojima Productions is now celebrating its 7th anniversary as an independent studio.
