Helldivers 2players are praising developer Arrowhead for its continued efforts to rectify the game’s rocky launch. Although the game itself has received rave reviews from fans and critics, its monumental launch on both PC and PlayStation 5 has caused continued connection issues for players.
Not only has Helldivers 2 been PlayStation’s biggest Steam launch, withalmost 200,000 concurrent playersearlier this week, but it’s also thenumber-one seller on the entire platformfor the week of February 6-13. Arrowhead’s CEO also recently revealed onX(formerly known as Twitter), that the game has sold “around” a million copies so far.
So it’s fair to say, Helldivers 2 is having one hell of a launch week.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t been all sunshine and roses for the team at Arrowhead. Due to the game’s monumental launch across both Steam and PlayStation 5, Helldivers 2 players have been met with a myriad of connection issues and crashes. While Arrowhead has since released multiple patches to address matchmaking issues, there’s still plenty of work to be done.
In astatementreleased over the weekend, Arrowhead’s CEO said that it was crucial that the team gets some sleep, implying that they had been working around the clock to rectify Helldivers 2’s connection issues.
While certain members of the community haven’t been too kind to Arrowhead following the launch of Helldivers 2, others have come out in full force to praise the work that the team is putting in.
Over on Reddit, a post on the Helldivers subreddit has received over 6,000 upvotes and more than 1,300 comments praising the devs.
“Please take a moment and stop being an idiot then understand things happen and that this is not a AAA studio. This is a group that is experiencing an extreme load all at once and are trying their best,” Reddit user Away_Froyo_1317 said.
The post goes on to inform fellow community members that most developers don’t communicate with their community as efficiently as Arrowhead has. They also pointed out that Helldivers 2 isn’t a bad game and simply has a few connection issues that will stabilize in the coming days and weeks.
With hundreds and hundreds of comments commending Arrowhead for its around-the-clock work, a developer responded with a lengthy statement, explaining that the feedback is really appreciated. They went on to explain that the team sees everything and are working “damn hard” to make it right for everyone.
The dev also explained in a separate comment just how appreciative the whole team is of the comments they received.
“The whole studio has been linked to this thread. There’s been a few people with teary eyes,” an Arrowhead developer said.
