However, trouble seemed to have brewed in paradise as the two reportedly separated earlier this year after two years of marriage. In August, JLo reportedlyfiled for divorce from Affleck, citing irreconcilable differences. In October, theHustlersactress finally broke her silence and opened up about the tough summer and her romantic life.
However, Ben Affleck was reportedly unaware of this development. According toDaily Mail, a source close to the actor reportedly mentioned that though Affleck knew that it would be an eventuality, he did not know that JLo would go public about it so quickly.
Ben knows that she will talk about the breakup forever. He would love for her not to talk about it, but he feels she will always speak out. He didn’t get a heads-up that she was going to talk about their relationship, but he assumed that it would eventually happen. It is a part of his life just as much as anything else, he’s never going to get away from it.
The source reportedly also mentioned that though he was not ready to talk about it, he knew that JLo would be vocal about her struggles as she has never been shy to speak up.

She also spoke about being alone after the divorce.

But when you sit in those feelings and go, ‘These things are not going to kill me,’ it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself.
Lopez also mentioned that she was not looking for anybody new at the moment and she had never been able to be complete like that.
