Taylor Sheridan is the hottest producer working in Hollywood, having a string of hit shows under his belt. However, none of them compare to the hype and popularity of the creator’s Western drama seriesYellowstone. The series is swiftly heading for a conclusion with what is expected to be its fifth and final season, albeit without lead star Kevin Costner.

Costner did not return for the final batch of episodes. The actor’s exit from the series came amidst a high-profile disagreement with creator Sheridan. However, both parties have presented their side of the story in media interactions, and here is what Sheridan had to say about exactly when his relationship with Costner was damaged beyond repair.

While Sheridan admitted that conversations had taken place to convince the actor to reprise his role in a smaller capacity to give him a send-off, things ultimately became unresolvable after lawyers got involved. Sheridan stated:

Once lawyers get involved, then people don’t get to talk to each other and start saying things that aren’t true and attempt to shift blame based on how the press or public seem to be reacting. He took a lot of this on the chin.
