Harvey Weinstein once used to be one of the most famous names in Hollywood, renowned for his contributions as a film producer in the entertainment industry. But then things took a turn downhill for him after he was convicted of multiple s-x offenses in 2017, resulting in not only his financial downfall but even his production company sold, once and for all.

Now, he is busy spending time behind bars, but things don’t seem to be going easy on him back there either. According to exclusive reports and fears shared by his legal team, the now-disgraced movie mogul’s prison is pretty much a “torture chamber or medieval dungeon,” as his lawyers call it – one where the conditions are so inhumane that they fear Weinstein might die in it.
Harvey Weinstein’s Prison is Basically a Death Trap, Per Reports
While the multiple s-xual assaults and r-pe allegations made against him (perNewsweek) were brutal enough to have him arrested and sentenced for 16 years, the way Harvey Weinstein is being treated behind bars is nothing short of equally critical, if not worse. As his case keeps updating with retrials scheduled, things seem to be further going downhill for the ex-film producer.
As per the latest reports shared by Weinstein’s legal team, his cell on Rikers Island Prison is being described as nothing short of a “torture chamber or medieval dungeon.” This is because not only does he reportedly have to spend his time in freezing temperatures but he is even being denied proper medical care in what might be, if not ‘intentional,’ then ‘negligent mistreatment’ at best.

His attorney, Imran H. Ansari, recently shared his concerns withTHR, saying,
He had blood spattered on him. I was shocked to see that any prisoner would be treated that way. He was totally unkempt. The clothes seemed like they were not clean or washed. And he told me he hadn’t been provided clean underwear in two weeks. It seemed like he was being completely mistreated.

Further reports from The Hollywood Reporter cite Ansari as calling the conditions in Rikers ‘draconian and deplorable.’ It’s worth noting that theUntouchableproducer has “a laundry list” of medical conditions including leukemia, diabetes, coronary artery disease, sleep apnea, severe dental, vision, and thyroid issues, extreme fluid retention, obesity, and chronic back pain.
Besides these,Harvey Weinsteinhas also reportedly contracted COVID-19 and pneumonia at the prison, and was also hospitalized earlier this year in April and July, not to mention his emergency heart surgery in September.

Shedding light on the same, Ansari continued to say about the inhumane conditions of Rikers:

You don’t need to be a doctor to say this, but if you’re not going to get the medical treatment for terminal illnesses like cancer, like leukemia, and it goes unchecked and it’s not treated properly, the inevitable outcome from that is death.
Recalling the time he went to visit his once-$300-million-rich client, the lawyer added, “I questioned whether I was in a prison facility that is supposed to be managed in accordance with our Constitution, or a gulag (the Soviet Union’s forced labor camps) where the prisoners are treated like animals.”
With that being said, ironically enough, the former producer’s lawyers have inevitably filed a lawsuit against New York City regarding the same, alleging that their client is receiving negligent medical care while spending his time in an inhumane prison, reportedly seeking $5 million in damages. But netizens, on the other hand, are still not willing to go easy on Harvey Weinstein.
Netizens Still Aren’t Going Easy on the Convicted S-x Offender
On the one hand, while his legal team seems to be doing everything in their power to make the world realize how badly Harvey Weinstein is being allegedly treated in the Rikers Island Prison – which might even result in his death, netizens, on the other hand, seem to have no problem with this unfortunate and brutal turn of events for the convicted criminal and r-pist.
If anything, all these allegations and charges have more than just brutally affected Weinstein, who once used to be $300 million rich, with special thanks to his production company- The Weinstein Company. This is evident from how, currently, his net worth stands at a mere $25 million (viaCelebrity Net Worth).
That said, taking toX, a lot of the netizens are nothing short of expressing their disinterest in how Weinstein may be spending time behind bars:
Good for him, let’s hope his fears become reality.
No one mourns the wicked!
I don’t care if he dies in prison. Very few, if any, do.
Good riddance !

Even though it is truly an unfortunate turn of events for Harvey Weinstein, the very producer who once used to live in the lap of luxury as he reigned supreme at the top of his game in Hollywood’s entertainment industry, netizens don’t seem to have any bit of sympathy left to extend to him.
To say the least, perhaps the only thing that could make his condition better for him is new updates inhis favorin his infamous case.
