Filled with tense matches and last-second clutches, Search And Destroy has become a staple of gaming and esports. Numerous popular multiplayer platforms, such asFortnite, have decided to implement a S&D game mode, especially after the noteworthy success of titles likeCounter-Strike 2andValorant.
Following this trend,Halo Esportsrecently announcedtheir upcoming S&D game mode, which wasdesigned with a distinct Halo twist.Halo Infinite’s version of the mode stands for “Seek And Deploy,” and many elements from the celebrated mode have been notably changed.

Suicide Squad Was Such A Big Flop That It Dragged Wonder Woman To Be Canceled
Suicide Squad and MultiVersus massive loss of money contributed to Monolith’s Wonder Woman game to be canned.
Releasing later this year,Halo InfiniteSeek And Deploy poses players with yet another exciting rendition of the mode. Not only is the economy system reworked for Halo’s unique style of combat, but the mode adds new features, like the ability to actually buy your way back into a match.

Additionally, a massiveforge contest, with a $20,000 prize pool, is being conducted to promote the new mode, and push forge creators to craft awesome maps that may find their way into the game.
Halo Infinite’s new S&D game mode harnesses many things similar to its other multiplayer competitors. With asymmetrical map design, rotating offense and defence, and a fully working economy,S&D veteranswill feel right at home.

That said, the mode still poses a few unique differences. First, the traditional shields and movement throughout theHalo franchisearen’t being reworked.Unlike Counter-Strike 2 or Valorant, you won’t have to worry about buying shields for each round.
Another interesting switch is that attackers won’t have to worry about a bomb occupying space within their inventory. Once again, this feature benefits the much more casual nature ofHalo combat, allowing for much smoother rounds.

The most notable difference inHalo Infinite’s S&D is the ability to buy your way back into matches.Although this mechanic is an expensive last-minute tactic for your team, it’s a new and exciting way to pull off the strategic playsHalohas become known for.
Halo Studio’s Contest For The Upcoming Mode
When S&D Extraction launches later this year, community-made forge maps, crafted specifically for this new mode, will be released alongside theofficial mapscrafted by Halo Studios.
On top of these forge maps possibly being put into the official competitive mode, creators will be given prizes from a $20,000 prize pool, with a first place prize of $5,000. More details about submitting a map and contest rules can be found on theforgehub website.

Majority of Fans Think GTA 6 Is Coming Next Year
Most gamers think Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t meet its targeted Fall 2025 release window, and will instead ship in 2026.
With submissions not due until May 13th, we can probably assume that the official mode won’t be officially released to the public until sometime after that date.
Overall, it’s been a pretty weird time forHalo, withHalo Infinitehaving one of the mostbizarre developmentsfor any game in the series. With some launch issues following asignificant delay, 343 Industries, now known as Halo Studios, had difficulty lockingInfiniteinto its current state.
While it’s still up for debate whatHalo Infinite’s lasting legacy will be, considering how it was initially posed as adecade-long ongoing project,we’re pleased to see significant updates like the upcoming S&D mode, even if the game won’t last the full 10 years.
