Eris is a daughter of Nyx and a personification of famine, pain, toil, and other undesirable things. Her most infamous deed was when she wasn’t invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis. She went anyway and, when kicked out, threw a golden apple inscribed with “To the fairest one” among the goddesses Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena.

How To Prepare For The Eris Fight
Since Eris fights using the Adamant Rail, her attacks can do some serious damage. So,the first thing to do is increase your health by collecting lots of Centaur Hearts.If you have already defeatedPolyphemus, and based on your luck, you should have decent health by the time you get to this fight.
The next thing to do is try getting your hands on a strong Cast Boon. The usual good ones are Demeter’s Arctic Ring, Hestia’s Smolder Ring, and Poseidon’s Tidal Ring.
When Eris aims at you, she doesn’t move much and fires from her position for most of her moves. So, a good Cast or Omega Cast can get some damage dealt while you run away from the attacks.
Additionally,you could also look for Boons like Zeus’s Divine Vengeancethat strikes your foe with lightning after you take damage, orHermes’s Nitro Boostthat increases your sprint speed by 15% and gives you a barrier that tanks any damage you take.
Finally, try going for a Boon that works best with your weapon’s ranged attacks. This can differ from weapon to weapon.
For example, you could get a powerful Boon for your strike attacks for Descura (Witch’s Staff) as its Omega attack does ranged damage. But if you are using Xinth (Black Coat), you should get a Boon that enhances your Specials.
How To Beat Eris, Strife Incarnate In Hades 2
The easiest way to defeat Eris is by learning her attacks and getting behind her when she uses the Adamant Rail. This won’t exactly make it a short fight, but it will help you survive longer and thus increase your chances of beating her.
It is ideal that you stay close to Eris throughout the fight, as it has two benefits. The first is that it makes dodging most of her attacks a lot easier, as you just need to dodge behind her when she starts firing. The second is that while you are up close, you can easily use your Cast or Omega Cast.
Hades 2: How To Beat Scylla

While fighting her, you should take your time learning her attacks in the first two phases. Here, you get to deal with all of her moves and have the best chance of getting used to them for their attack and dodge timings.
Once you are comfortable avoiding her moves, you can barrage her with your attacks and move on to the next two phases. As you enter the third and fourth phases of the fight, you should focus on dealing as much damage as quickly as possible.
This is because her moves are more powerful and deal a lot of damage from here on out, so the quicker you finish her, the less health you will lose. Keep attacking her when it is safe, and you are out of her firing range, and you will defeat Eris in no time.
Eris, Strife Incarnate Phase 1
Description
Multiple Shots
Eris takes a few seconds to aim at Melinoe. You can use the trail as a cue to where she will fire. Once she is done aiming, she fires multiple shots at you.
Eris moves her aim as you run around. You can avoid it by either getting very far away, or dodging in between the attacks. You can also try dashing behind her as she moves.
Grenade Toss
Eris tosses a few grenades around her while she reloads her gun. These grenades show their AoE on where they are about to drop. After the first set of grenades, Eris can throw another set to where Melinoe is.
Attack Eris a few times, and dodge or sprint away when the grenades are about to hit the ground.
Grenade Bombing
Eris takes it to the skies and drops a few grenades randomly on the battlefield while she is flying around.
These grenades have a much smaller AoE, and you can easily run away to a safe area to avoid getting hit by them.
Single Shot
Eris holds aim for a long time and tracks Melinoe everywhere she runs. After a few seconds, she will fire a single shot that can deal a lot of damage.
Run around Eris and dodge when she fires.
In this phase, the main move that you need to look out for is Eris’s Multiple shots. She fires a lot of shots in quick succession while also following you. So, if you are in front of her when she fires, dodging this move can be pretty difficult unless you are out of her range.
Grenade toss is the best move to attack her, as she is static while reloading her gun, and you get to land free hits. The risk of getting hit by the grenades' explosion is pretty minimal as long as you pay attention to them and are ready to quickly dodge.
Aside from the above moves, the other two are quite easy to deal with.While Eris is bombing the ground with grenades, just look for a safe spot,and you should not get hit by them. As for her single-shot attack, it takes a while to fire, so you should just run around and away from Eris so that it is easy to dodge it.
You can dodge the single-shot attack by standing behind a pillar. But since there are only two pillars in this fight, you can use them only twice, as once they are hit, they get destroyed.
After you deal her enough damage, she shields herself and becomes invulnerable. This will start the second phase of the fight.
Eris, Strife Incarnate Phase 2
Damage Buff
Eris tosses a grenade at herself while she is invulnerable. After it goes off, her damage increases by 100%.
Stay out of the grenade’s range and wait for her invulnerability to wear off, then attack her.
Summoning foes from the Rift of Thessaly
Eris summons enemies like Boozer and Harpy Talons from the Rift of Thessaly to help her in the fight.
Eliminate the mobs before going back to fighting with Eris.
Spread Shots
Eris aims the Adamant Rail toward Melinoe; you may see multiple trails. When she fires, it comes out as a spread shot.
Run around close to Eris and get behind her with a dodge just as she fires the gun.
Dash Shots
Eris charges herself up and dashes towards Melinoe’s last location. While she is dashing, she fires the Adamant Rail on both her sides.
Dodge towards Eris when she dashes at you.
The damage buff is the most annoying move in this fight, because not only does it increase Eris’s damage, but you also cannot do pretty much anything about it except for getting better at avoiding getting hit.
In this phase, the spread-shots attack is something that you should be careful of. It can very easily hit you if you are near and in front of Eris.But the same strategy of dodging behind her or getting very far away can easily help you out.
The foes from Rift of Thessaly aren’t too much of a problem, rather a minor inconvenience, so you should deal with them quickly. Similarly, her dash shots attack also shouldn’t give you too much trouble.
Once again, keep attacking her until she shields herself and starts the third phase of the fight.
Eris, Strife Incarnate Phases 3 And 4
These two phases are not very different from the second phase, as Eris uses all of her previous attacks.The only big change is that her damage increases significantlydue to her using her damage-buffing grenade toss twice. So they are a lot stronger than in the previous phases.
The damage-buffing grenade toss attack also gets its range increased each time you go into the next phase. It has the maximum range in the fourth phase.
The last two phases are just skill checks, and if you are well-versed in the moves that she uses, you shouldn’t have too much trouble dealing with them.
Eris, Strife Incarnate Rewards
For defeating Eris, Strife Incarnate, you get the following reward:
you’re able to farm Golden Apple by repeatedly defeating Eris. Once you do get this reagent, it has several uses. For example,after learning the incantation recipe from Aphrodite, you can use Golden Apple to get Nectar.
Some of its other uses include upgrading theAspect of Eos for Ygnium (Umbral Flames), which costs 2x Golden Apple and 2x Dry Wood, or upgrading"The Champions" Arcana Card,which costs 2x Golden Apples and 10x Moon Dust.
