Fans may call Max crazy for canceling one of the best animated sci-fi shows of 2023,Scavengers Reign,after its first season. However, the streamer has made one possibility for the series to continue with a second season. Max has made a non-exclusive deal with Netflix to stream the show in the US, UK, Ireland, and New Zealand. And if the show proves to be a success at Netflix,Scavengers Reignmight get picked for a Season 2 at its new home.

The show was an immediate critical success with a 100%Rotten Tomatoesscore. Somehow, the critical success wasn’t enough for Max to it’s running the show, and the streamerannounced its cancelationin May (via Deadline). However, in a rare move, Max may not have killed the hopes for the series entirely.
According toVariety,Scavengers Reign Season 1will begin streaming on Netflix beginning on May 31. While the show would still be available on Max, the new summer home for the series could also take it up for another season, provided the series hits the numbers. Fans are definitely not going to waste this second chance at reviving the beautiful show.
The producers of the show, Green Street Pictures, are beyond thrilled at this new development. In a statement to Variety, they shared their gratitude to the fans and to Netflix for a wider reach. They shared:
