Gran Turismo 7’snext monthly update, arriving next week, will bring five more cars to the already packed garage. Creator Kaz Yamauchi tweeted out an image of five silhouettes as a tease for the update, driving fan speculation as to just which machines will be making their way onto the track. November’s updatebrought with it four cars, one of which was the unique Red Bull 2019X 25th Anniversary, a special collaboration celebrating the25th Anniversary of Gran Turismo.
Fans have analyzed the silhouettes and come up with a few potential ideas that run the gamut from rally cars to more Bugattis. A few potential models include the Ferrari VGT, McLaren Arutra, Maserati MC20, and the C8 Corvettea. One fan account,ShareGamePlay, provided its picks for four out of the five silhouettes in a helpful graphic.
A major part of Gran Turismo’s appeal to race fans has always been the incredible attention to detail on bringing real cars to the digital track. Decades of hard work is paying off now in the social media era, when fans can look at the faintest of outlines and then start going crazy with speculation. That speculation leads to discussions about the makeup of the car roster, between rally cars and street cars, or different manufacturers, with gearheads all having their own opinions.

Gran Turismo 7 has been receiving steady updates since its March release, a level of support reflected in the title’s fan reception, which started out poorly but has recovered with the consistent release of additional content. Originally, Gran Turismo 7 had the lowest MetaCritic rating out of the entire franchise, the result of review-bombing by players to protest the heavy microtransactions that were included. Despite the fan protest, Gran Turismo 7 is not only the highest-grossing title in the franchise, it also won Best Racing Game at the2022 Game Awards.
As for next week’s update — arriving on Monday, December 12 — nothing has been officially confirmed by the developer beyond the additional five cars. Fan speculation is leaning towards two new track layouts, which are not new tracks but different configurations of existing tracks for different type of events, specifically the Nurburgring track. Players have spotted a pair of placeholder games added to the showcase area, labeled Endurance and Sprint. In only a few days, all the mystery will be clear when the December 1.27 update goes live.
