Helldivers 2, the game enjoyed a fantastic reception from gamers and reviewers alike before it became controversial due to Sony’s requirement for players on Steam to link their account to a PSN account. Gamers began review-bombing the title on Steam and stated reasons for their dissent.

Another title that was a PlayStation exclusive but is now finally coming to PC this month,Ghost of Tsushima, has also added the PlayStation Network account requirement. This means the conflict will only grow and show no signs of stopping.

Four years after its release on the PlayStation 4, the title will now be released on the PC. All seemed to be going fine before the controversy withHelldivers 2spread to the action-adventure game. In a post on X/Twitter, the popular social media platform, a user shared that the game’s product page indicated the requirement to have a PSN account linked to Steam:

Considering how long the PC Gaming community has waited for the action-adventure titles on the platform, the sudden requirement of a PlayStation Network account will undoubtedly ruffle some feathers in the PC community and it may not end well for Sony and PlayStation.
However, while the agenda of the pushback and the negative opinions from PC players was to ensure that their experience wasn’t hampered, it seems that the PlayStation community did add fuel to the already raging fire.

There are sides to the issue; social media enables different sides of a story and allows both parties to express their exasperation with the controversy. While some comments are being made on the actual issue, which is Sony imposing the ID-linking requirement.
But many other accounts from one community are blatantly taking shots at the opposition. While it is not ideal for gamers to fight among each other instead of addressing the actual requirement and imposing it, it seems like another battle between the PC Master Race and PlayStation enthusiasts.
