Anya Taylor-Joy explained the importance of losing the arm toRefinery29, telling them that losing the arm is sort of accepting her fate and becoming a“creature of the wasteland.”She said,

The filmmaker wants the prequel series to follow in the footsteps of his previous film. He said,
It’s the last thing I did on this film, and I call it tinted black & chrome.
The black-and-white version of this film sounds quite intriguing, and it will be fun to watch a chrome version of the prequel film after the film’s run at the theatre comes to an end.
