Best Builds & Artifact Sets
Yelan’s best role is as aSub-DPS, using her Elemental Burst,Depth-Clarion Dice, to enable the rest of the team’s attacks to deal Hydro damage and enabling lots of Hydro reactions. Yelan’s priorities when building her stats are:
Yelan’s most important Talent to level is herElemental Burst. Her Elemental Skill is very useful out of combat but is not a big part of her kit in battle and does not need to be leveled. If you use Yelan on-field for DPS more often, her Normal Attacks are also very good and can be leveled.
Emblem Of Severed Fate
This set is perfect for Yelan as it helps her Energy Recharge requirements, and it gives her more damage for leaning into this stat. The 2-Piece Bonus provides20% Energy recharge. The 4-Piece Bonusincreases the damage of her Elemental Burst by 25% of her Energy recharge.

It provides upgrades to her Ascension HP stat, a huge Crit Damage % boost, and its other abilityincreases Yelan’s damage by 20%even when off-field. This is an incredible synergy with her normal Sub-DPS off-field Hydro damage role.

This 5-Star bow gives Yelan a hugeElemental mastery boost. If you are using Yelan in a Vaporize team, or other teams based on Elemental Reactions, this can be her best weapon.

Yelan’s ability to provide off-field Hydro application to normal attacks means she has verystrong synergywith any DPS that has good elemental normal attacks or ways of reacting with Hydro. 5-Star team - Vaporize
Character Role and Benefits
Sub-DPS: Applies off-field Hydro damage. Enables Hu Tao to vaporize her attacks
Sub-DPS: Applies off-field Hydro damage, helps funnel Energy to Yelan, shields and heals
Support: Provides shield, RES shred
This team takes advantage of Yelan and Xingiu’s ability toapply off-field Hydro to attacks, letting Hu Tao vaporize her normal attacks for huge damage. To set up Hu Tao’s damage you want to use Yelan and Xingqiu’s Elemental Bursts first. This same team can also work with another 5-Star Pyro Main DPS like Yomiya or Diluc. If you don’t haveZhongli, the 4th slot can be replaced with an Anemo character like Kazuha or Sucrose to help with swirling elements, or another source of Pyro application like Xiangling – or Bennett for Pyro, buffing and healing.
4-Star Team - Electro-Charged
The other Hydro reaction that can benefit from Yelan’s skills is Electro-charged.
Main DPS swirls Electro-Charged
Sub-DPS: Applies off-field Hydro damage. Can also act as Main DPS.
Sub-DPS: Applies off-field Electro damage.
This team uses Yelan and Xingqiu’soff-field Hydro applicationfrom their Elemental Bursts andFischl’s off-field Electro application from her Elemental Skill to create the Electro-Charged reaction.
