Genshin Impact 2.2brought back the 5-star character Hu Tao, inspiring cosplayer Dalowrell to do a fiery recreation of her banner.
On November 2nd, Hu Tao made her first-ever re-run forGenshin Impact 2.2, along with other characters like Thoma, Sayu, and Diona.
She was first released in February 2021 for Version 1.3, so the character’s return has been a long time coming.Genshin Impactfans rushed to try and pull her character, with some turning to cosplay recreations as well.
Among them is Russian cosplayer Dalowrell, who gives “cosplay” a whole new meaning with her stunning Hu Tao banner recreation.
DALOWRELL’S HU TAO BANNER RECREATION
As an avid cosplayer and photographer, Dalowrell is no stranger to impressiveGenshin Impactcosplays. Her previousSucroseandGanyucosplays are both beautifully done and beautifully photographed. This time though, her Hu Tao cosplay seriously takes it up a notch.
In a picture-perfect recreation of the recently released banner, Dalowrell shines as Hu Tao (accompanied by the character’s adorable ghost friend!). Everything from the pose to the intricate details of the clothes is spot-on - so much so that it’s easy to mistake her photo for the real banner!
Further, it’s easy to tell she has major skills as a creative photographer, a cosplayer, and a make-up artist just by looking at her work. It’s impressively accurate, as she’s nailed the exact colors and textures of Hu Tao’s outfit. And, mimicking East Asian make-up techniques, she’s perfected the bright-eyed and cartoon-esque look of theGenshincharacters. As a result, she fully transforms herself with each cosplay.
Additionally, she completes the cosplay with one of Hu Tao’s charmingly goofy poses. That, combined with the flame-butterfly details, is what really brings her Hu Tao cosplay to life.
Following her main banner recreation, Dalowrell even made a vampire-esque version of Hu Tao for Halloween. It’s both fitting and fun given the character’s spooky themes.
