In a world where navigating one ‘relationship’ seems like a gigantic task for many, Kody Brown was handling four marriages and 18 children at once. His and his wives’ lives have been well documented in the reality TV show,Sister Wives, which is now focusing on how Brown and his 3 ex-wives have been handling the ‘divorce’.

Although they were never legally married, the situation has been tough for all of them. However, Kody Brown has been the one suffering the most, still hung over the past while his wives have long moved on.
Kody Brown and the Story of His Four Marriages
TLC’sSister Wivesdetails the life of a now broken polygamist family, which includes the ‘husband’Kody Brown, and his wife Robyn, ex-wife Meri, ex-wife Janelle, and ex-wife Christine. Having a total of 18 kids from his four wives, Brown’s family paradise was destroyed when, one by one, three of his four wives announced separation.
Sister Wives: We Are Still Worried About Kody Brown’s One Confession About His Relationship With Robyn
Christine announced that she was ‘divorcing’ Brown in November 2021, while Janelle just a year later revealed their separation. Soon,Meri too, in 2023, revealed they were no longer on talking terms. Now, in a monogamous marriage with just Robyn, Brown is stuck in the past.
The reason for his broken home is him moving his family from their peaceful ‘community’ life in Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona, due to the anti-polygamous laws of Utah. Just when they were adjusting to their lives, the pandemic stuck, and Brown ended up quarantining with Robyn, leading him further drifting apart from his other wives and children.

Kody Brown’s Broken Home is His Own Doing
Kody Brown’s now fractured family life is largely a result of his own choices and inability to adapt. Once having prided himself on being a loving, devoted father, his parenting skills failed when his kids grew up and matured, leading to a strained relationship. His missing holidays and birthdays, further caused his family to drift apart.

While he remains close to Robyn’s children, he has failed to make meaningful connectionswith his children with Christine and Janelle. The family’s move from their perfect life in Las Vegas to Flagstaff further contributed to the breakdown, adding emotional and physical distance to the once close-knit family.
The pandemic’s arrival further exacerbated the distance, which eventually ended up with Kody Brown blaming pretty much everyone instead of taking responsibility for his broken family life. Ultimately, his inability to see his shortcomings and his clinginess to the past is the reason why the reality TV star ended up losing the love of his kids and three of his four wives.

Sister Wivesis available to be streamed on Discovery+.
