Baldur’s Gate 3, the Game of the Year-winning role-playing game, has finally arrived on Xbox Series S and Series X. The game comes to the platform after numerous delays, and the fans of the game on Xbox are happy to finally get their hands on it.
Larian Studios has partnered with streaming platform Twitch to provide exclusive free rewards to players to celebrate the long-awaited arrival of the game on the console with Twitch Drops.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Brings Back Twitch Drops to Celebrate the Xbox Launch
The developer announced that it is bringing back the Twitch Drops on the officialX/Twitterhandle of the game and is offering an exclusive Camp Clothing Set for the players. Players just need to watch the gameplay from drop-enabled streamers for a specific amount of time, and the items will be unlocked and added to players’ Twitch accounts.
Players who want to earn the exclusive Camp Clothing Set will need to watch a total of two hours of gameplay on Twitch from drop-enabled streamers. The Camp Clothing Set includes Streamhopper Loafers, Channeler’s Trunks, Periwinkle Undergarments, and Chatterbox’s Tabard. The set is purple-colored, but players can later customize it with dye to match the overall aesthetic of the game.
After players watch a stream for 2 hours, the items will be added to their account and can be redeemed in-game. It is important to know that Larian and Twitch accounts should be linked to earn and redeem the exclusive items. Players can connect the accounts by visiting the official Larian website, logging into the Larian account, and linking.
Furthermore, players will need to watch the stream on one device only, and watching on different devices would not qualify for the rewards. However, players can watch the same streamer’s stream on different days, totaling two hours before the campaign ends, to earn rewards.
Players can find the drop-enabled streamers streaming the game by looking for the“Drops Enabled”tag. The campaign is available for both Xbox and PlayStation 5 players and is live from August 13, 2025, and will continue till July 18, 2025, at 4 AM UK Time, so there is plenty of time for players to grab the free rewards.
The developer has brought back the free drop for the second time, as it offered the same exclusive set upon the PC release of the game but didn’t bring any for the PlayStation 5 release. This is a great opportunity for any player who missed them, as they can now get the free items. However, PC players cannot get the rewards.
The free drops are to celebrate the game’s release on the console after it was delayed due to optimization issues on the less powerful Series S. The developer said that it was facing issues with split-screen and couch co-op working, and it was later decided that this feature would not be coming to Series S. The game finally launched on the consoles on December 8.
The developer also addressed an issue that Xbox players faced with the game, as all the saved files disappeared after the game crashed. Larian took toX/Twitterand shared that it is aware of the problem and has issued an update to help with these issues, and players can manually update their console from the system menu to avoid any such issues. The update is said to be around 19 GB.
Baldur’s Gate 3picked up a total of six awards, including the highly-deserved and coveted Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023. It was expected that the Xbox release of the game would be announced at the event, but it wasn’t, as the Larian team didn’t get enough time on stage just like the other developers, but that’s a whole other issue.
The release of the game on the console was later announced onX/Twitter, and Sven Vincke, CEO of Larian,statedthat he was supposed to announce this at the show ifBG3had won any awards but could not. The game has been an immense success, which is highlighted by its sweep at The Game Awards 2023. It has been praised for its gameplay, narrative, and overall game design. The game is still going strong and will likely be for years.
