WhenFortniteChapter 3 Season 1 first arrived back in December, one of the many new features promised by Epic Games was a brand new weather system that would include tornadoes and lightning.
After a month of waiting a new hotfix update was deployed today that finally adds the anticipated feature to the game, alongside the new flare gun too.
Now that the weather system is finally here, players are eager to see how the terrifying tornadoes are going to affect the way we play. So, here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite’s new weather feature, including where you may find tornadoes in the game.
New FortniteWeather Affects - Tornadoes, Lightning, and More!
The new weather system has finally arrived toFortnite! Players will now encounter tornadoes forming around the island, but instead of running away from them, jump into them to make a quick getaway from enemies.
Once inside the tornado, you won’t take any fall damage when you come back down, but if you stay inside of it long enough you’ll get spat back out.
As for lightning, Epic Games states that it will deal a small amount of damage if a player is hit by it and will also set the surrounding area on fire. However, there is a benefit to being struck by lightning, players gain a temporary speed boost after being struck.
If you want to be struck by lightning inFortnite, jump into a body of water beneath the cloud, or reach the highest land point under it. For more details, visit theEpic Games website.
Where To Find Tornadoes In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1
Unfortunately, there isn’t a set location to find the new tornadoes inFortniteas the spawn chance is completely random. However, Epic Games did state in their new blog post that Tornado Week is live until January 17th, during this time there’s a higher percentage chance that players will encounter tornadoes around the island.
So although there’s no set location, there is a great chance you’ll encounter one simply by playing.
