FortniteChapter 4 Season 1 is the beginning of a new era for the huge community of the Battle Royale hit, asEpic Gamesdelivers a brand-new map as well as some new gameplay features that could turn the tides of the battle for every individual player if they know how to use their Reality Augments.

Reality Augments are temporary perks in Fortnite that will last until the end of a match as long as you are alive. Unlike items, Reality Augments cannot be picked up from a dead player’s corpse or chests across the map. Every player in the game will be suggested to pick one Reality Augment at different intervals during the match. The longer you stay alive, the more of these intervals you will see, which means you will possess more Reality Augments at the end.

In the case of what a Reality Augment does, it depends on your roll. Each time you will have a chance to pick one perk from a pair of perks, but you will also be able to reroll to get better offerings. Some of these perks will act as passive abilities, like Supercharged, which will allow you to drive vehicles without using fuel and get free fortification on them. However, some others will need your own activation, like Mechanical Archer which grants you a mechanical shock bow and a mechanical explosive blow.

As you can already guess, the more Reality Augments you possess, the more opportunities you will have on the battlefield to use against your opponents. Of course, all players who are in the same wave will have a similar amount of Reality Augments, but it depends on how well you can organize and use them for your benefit.

There will be an overall 22 Reality Augments in the game at the launch, some of which have already been revealed in the official patch notes. Epic Games will probably introduce more of these perks in the future seasons as the developer tries to diversify the gameplay by injecting new ideas and abilities into the Battle Royale mode.
