With the commencement of the Elbaph Arc, Eiichiro Oda’sOne Pieceis finally in the final saga that has been going on for the past 27 years. The series featured a few chapters of the ongoing arc, which had hooked the fans already.

Now, they are eagerly waiting for the moment when Monkey D. Luffy will be going all out against Loki, The Sun God, in his Gear 5 form. The hype surrounding their showdown is immense, with fans coming up with all sorts of absurd yet so convincing theories that would elevate the status of the work.
One such theory surrounding the Grand Adventure of Oda-Sensei is what the next steps of the Giant chained to the Treasure Tree Adam will be. A fan took to YouTube, where they shared their theory that the Captain of the Straw Hats will have another emotional toll, where Loki might go for someone close to him.

One PieceFan Theory Plans Might Just Feature Another Traumatic Moment For Monkey D. Luffy
With just a few chapters deep, the Elbaph Arc is shrouded in mystery, and fans do not know much about the current storyline, which is meant to giveUsopp a much-needed power-up. However, before the manga went on another two-week hiatus, it featured in Chapter 1131 how Loki mocked Shanks, as if he knew him, or even better, he was his enemy.
This led to countless fan theories formulating around the internet, where some believe thatEiichiro Odamight be thinking of featuring aGear 5 vs. Gear 5 battle, which held the power to break the internet. While the theory sounds too good to be true, another theory has come forward, which might just take a dark turn, where the Accursed Prince might be going after Luffy’s idol, Shanks.

With a Cost of $160k Per Episode, The Most Expensive Dragon Ball Anime Makes Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece Look Cheap
A renowned anime enthusiast (@Ohara) uploaded a video on his YouTube channel where the past of the Giant might just be intertwined with Akagami. It is a well-known fact among the fans of the series that Oda-Sensei has not revealed much about Yonko, and now that the series is in his final saga, he is shown to be making moves.
This compels the creator to think that Shanks’ Emperor of the Sea status would be because he might have helped the giants of Elbaph capture Loki. Ohara explains that Prince Loki was chained to the tree six years ago, and the pirate also became an Emperor at the same time span.

However, becoming a Yonko is not child’s play, and one must pull off something impressive to earn that title. This made him think that Shanks might have played a major role in the act. Hence, this could indicate another showdown where a major narrative development could take place. The creator explained how it is a“classic trope”for anime and manga, where the mentor-type characters die.
Since he played that role at one point in the story,“most people expect Shanks to die.”However, most believe that Blackbeard would fulfill the role, but the unforeseen events of the recent chapter have made Loki a prominent candidate as well. Hence, the creator explains that if Luffy unlocks Loki, which he eventually will, then he might go for his idol, which would“ABSOLUTELY CRUSH Luffy.”

Ohara believes there will be a similar reaction from the Marineford Arc, where Yonko blacked out as he watched his half brother Ace die right in front of his eyes. All because he will hold himself responsible for unlocking the Shame of Elbaph, which led to such a morbid grieving outcome.
One PieceFans Have Their Say on the Dark Theory
Even though fans believed that the series would play a key role in the overall narrative, they were not ready for the grim turn that Oda-Sensei may or may not feature in his magnum opus; after all, he is against killing the characters in his series.
However, the fans were not done yet as they voiced their own theories revolving around Loki and the events that made him detest the Captain of the Red Hair Pirates. They commented,
@slyaton commented,“Crazy idea, giants normally would fight to the death. So what if shank is the reason that loki was imprisoned and not dead. So not finishing a fight is way he calls shanks a coward”
@davidfity2802 commented,“Model Nika was the original fruit passed down in the giant clan which someone in the Navy stole and replaced with a similar looking fruit and then Shanks jacked the Navy once he found out they had it. Hence why Loki thinks he has the Sun God fruit but probably has a similar type fire related fruit”
@aasifmohammed3398 commented,“What if Loki’s father was killed by Shanks, and before he was dead he gave the power to Loki.”
@iownall2222 commented,“Black beard isn’t killing shanks. He’s getting killed by Garland when he tried to make a deal with the elders. Garland is going to use him and his crew as a show of power and take him out.”
@RedWolfWindgear commented,“We need a flashback of how Loki got locked up. Hopefully it’s planned in a chapter or two down the road. I want to see how Shanks took this guy down.”
@jnigro1233 commented,“I’ve got 2 theories that this video helped me think about more. One theory is that shanks could have stopped Loki and chained him up and his father was killed. I believe The King was a Yonko that was getting old and helped shanks become the next Yonko and tell him to find the hidden Devil Fruit that was replaced. Another theory I had was that JoyBoy was a Giant from ancient Elbaf. This is because Imu had a giant straw hat that JoyBoy could have worn and could symbolize the next Warrior Of Liberation. JoyBoy was an Elbaf giant and his fruit was supposed to be passed down every generation but wasn’t and instead was locked away and then given to the government to hide and then shanks found it. It’s why Shanks had the hat. He was said to be the next JoyBoy but once Luffy ate the fruit he was given the hat to symbolize the next Warrior of Liberation.”
Nevertheless, with the way the current arc is developing, it is quite unpredictable what the mangaka would feature in his stellar work. However, one thing is certain: the readers of the manga would be thunderstruck as the plot thickens.
One Piecemanga can be read on VIZ, and the anime can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
