Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chroniclesis adding new dialogue for fan favourite characters in its Enhanced mode, giving the original team the chance to reinsert material that didn’t make the cut the first time around.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is a ground-up remake that attempts to emulate the original game, while updating the essentials for modern hardware, such as the visuals. Unfortunately, this remake won’tinclude any of the extra contentfrom The War of the Lions PSP port, which means fewer jobs and battles than that version of the game.

Final Fantasy Tactics Characters Are Getting More Dialogue

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles director Kazutoyo Maehiro revealed that certain NPCs who join the party fully will get extra dialogue in battle. This also includes an infamous villain, whose motives will be explored more. Thiswriting was intendedfor the original Final Fantasy Tactics, but didn’t make it into the game.

“When sending them into specific battles, characters like Agrias, Cid, and Mustadio speak considerably more. Some of these dialogues aren’t just exchanges between characters, but also complement the narrative, or touch on the heart of the story, such as why war veteran Marquis Elmdore chose the path he did."

In the original Final Fantasy Tactics, certain characters were a major part of the story, and then the player had the chance to hire them as a party member. As they could be dismissed at any time, the developers gave them way fewer dialogue scenes, as there was a chance that the player would dump them.

Characters like Agrias and T.G. Cid are some of the most popular in the game, so it will be exciting tohear what new insightsthey bring. It’ll also be interesting to see if Cloud Strife gets more dialogue, as he doesn’t do much after getting hired.
