Alucard has been one of the main protagonists in Netflix’sCastlevania. The son of Dracula, who has lived his entire life trying to defeat his father, has spent centuries in his pursuit of justice. Throughout the several seasons of the show, Alucard’s character has been developed like no other.
On his lonely journey, he met Trevor and Sypha, the two people who he could trust with his life. While he was not as welcoming towards them in the beginning, it quickly became clear that he had finally received the company he had been craving for.

Skip to his meeting with Trevor and Sypha, Alucard is at first suspicious and inquisitive towards them. Trevor’s crass attitude does not impress him, nor does the frequent rudeness and threats. He ended up battling Trevor, which made it clear that the Belmont’s bravery, strength, and conviction were not to be underestimated.
Alucard acknowledged Trevor and Sypha to be his prophesized allies, and the relationship between the trio is unrivaled in the entire franchise. They might insult and annoy each other, but they also respect each other. Alucard’s brotherly love towards Trevor becomes evident, and it is the Belmont who gives him new purpose after Dracula is killed. The friendship between the trio mended the gaping hole in his heart.

After the death of Dracula, Trevor and Sypha leave to go on their own adventures, leaving him alone once again. Just as his mind begins to deteriorate in loneliness, he is visited by Taka and Sumi, aspiring vampire hunters who want to learn from Alucard. The dhampir grows close to them, only to be badly betrayed as they try to kill him.

After slaying the two in self-defense, Alucard once again had to embrace loneliness. InCastlevania: Nocturne, Alucarddelivers a powerful dialogue:
I learned that family is not only made by blood. Ancestors and their offspring are linked together by a shared bond. For centuries, I’ve been fighting to save humanity with a Belmont by my side. Isn’t that a family, too?
This shows that Alucard has realized how he had built strong ties with humans over the course of his lifetime. He recognizes that Trevor and Sypha, tho not bound to him by blood, are still his family. And this is the type of bond that is forged through shared battles and hardship, something that blood alone cannot rival.
