The trailer for the newFablereboot looks like everything a lifelong fan could wish for. Set to release sometime in 2025, the trailer features the new protagonist, an aspiring hero trained by a man named Humphry, Albion’s greatest hero; until he retired, that is.
According the trailer description:

More Fable Is Just What the World Needed
The release of the firstFablein 2004 was revolutionary; it was received well for its gameplay and execution and sold over two million units within two years.
Its success gave way to the single title turning into a long-spanning franchise; we gotThe Lost Chaptersthe year after, the second game in 2008, the third entry in 2010, and a bunch of other spinoffs.

Unfortunately, 2012’sThe Journeyentry into the franchise was its last (aside from the card game in 2018, but we don’t count that). This marked the start of the decline of the franchise; we did get anAnniversarygame in 2014, but it was a remastered version ofThe Lost Chapters.
With no news on the franchise for quite some time, it felt like all hope was lost; that is, until head of Xbox Phil Spencer tweeted in 2017 about the franchise going some places. A year later, news broke that Playground Games was working on a fourth installment to a new entry to the franchise.

An official announcement only came out in 2020 at the Xbox showcase, and we got a small teaser a few years later. And, now, we’ve reached the near-conclusion of this agonizing wait.
