Solo Levelingis based on Korean hunter Sung Jin Woo, who was termed humanity’s weakest hunter and assigned the rank F. 2024 is the prime year for many good animes but the one that stood out among them and is arguably the most anticipated series of the year is none other thanSolo Levelling.
With episode one just being released a few days ago, the series managed to break a major record held by Luffy’s Gear 5 episode, which was the biggest episode premiere on Crunchyroll, but that was demolished by the very first episode of the series ofSolo Leveling.

Solo Leveling shatters Luffy’s Gear 5 record in One Piece in a single episode

Many fans often hail Luffy’s Gear 5 as the most iconic moment inOne Piece, as it was foreshadowed for a very long time.
Solo Levelingrevolves around Sung Jinwoo, who is the weakest hunter alive but cannot quit due to his need for funds to pay off his mother’s hospital bills.
During a mission, he finds himself about to be killed but this initiates a “secret side quest” and starts thesololevelingnarrative.
Previously, the most anticipated episode premiere onCrunchyrollwas ofOne Piece, which was Luffy’s Gear 5 with 85k–102k; however, that was broken bySolo Leveling’sfirst episode, which got 116k likes in 2 days.
Solo Levelingis expected to break even more records, considering it is the most well-known webtoon of all time and has a huge fanbase all around the globe.

The Manwha was illustrated by Jang Sung-rak, who passed away on June 10, 2025, after suffering from a cerebral hemorrhage.The story depicts the journey of a young hunter who was often ridiculed for his weakness.
From being termed the weakest hunter in existence and almost perishing during a mission, Jinwoo rises from nothing to becoming the strongest hunter of all time.
