Limited inventory slots are usually frustrating in survival and looter games. You want to collect as many things as possible. That’s why most players usually attempt to find the fastest way to improve their inventory size and increase the total amount of items they can carry.

How To Upgrade Backpack
Before you can upgrade your Backpack, you need tosummon both Farmer and Hunter. Also, you should grab theHunter’s Hand Spindleafter summoning her to your base. The location of Farmer and Hunter are shown on the map above, and the location of the Hand Spindle will be marked automatically on your map as soon as you talk to Hunter at your base.
Once you have all the above, now you need tofarm some Flax. This is a certain flower that can only be found inlush forests. There is not a single place to farm a lot of them, but if youhead west from the location of Revelwood Fast Travel Point, you can find some of them. The best way to farm Flax, however, is toplant it at your base. For this, you can build aSeedbedusing Farmer’s crafting menu, then you can receive 10 Flax Seedlings in exchange for two units of Water and one unit of Flax. Once the seedlings are ready, you can plant them at your base, and it will take two in-game days for them to fully grow. Keep in mind that you cannot build a Seedbed until you buildGrinding Stonesfrom theAlchemist’s crafting menu. Grinding Stonesis the tool for creating Bonemeal, a resource that is necessary for crafting Farm Soil for Seedbed.

After you have enough Flax, interact withHunter’s Hand Spindleand place Flax to receiveLineninstead. Now, you have one of the two main requirements of a Medium Backpack Extension.
In the next part, you will need to use Hunter’s crafting menu to build aDrying Rack. Here, you should combineFurandSaltto craftDried Fur, which is the next major requirement of Backpack Extension. Almost all animals in the game drop Fur, but killing goats has a much higher chance of dropping Fur.

Once you have enough Dried Fur and Linen, use Hunter’s crafting menu to make aMedium Backpack Extension. Now, move to the Character menu and equip Backpack Extension to the corresponding slot. The Medium version will add16 slotsto your inventory.
