Death and FromSoftware games go hand-in-hand; be itDark Souls,Sekiro, orElden Ring, you will die more often than you think. However, what separates Elden Ring Nightreign from all its predecessors is that, instead of dying immediately upon losing all your health, you go into a Near Death state instead.
The good thing about this feature is that while in this state, your teammates can revive you by attacking you, similar to when you get downed inFortnite,.

Now, you might get deceived into thinking that this mechanic makes the game easy, since you can always revive your team or get revived by them.
10 Most Overpowered Weapons in Soulsborne Games
There are hundreds of weapons in the catalogue of Soulsborne games, but these take the cake.
Well, that couldn’t be further from the truth. As this is a muchfaster-paced game, the bosses and enemies will get super aggressive and be on your tail as if you stole their lunch money.

They won’t wait around and let you help your teammates out. In fact, at times it even feels like a trap, as the moment you get too fixated on helping out your ally, the boss gets a free hit on you.
Luckily, there are a few strategies that you could use to save your team while also not ending up dead yourself. So, here is how Near Death works inElden Ring Nightreignand how you’re able to rescue your teammates most successfully.

What Is Near Death?
Near Death is the state a character goes into when their HP gets completely depleted. Upon entering this state, a purple circular gauge appears above the character with an outer ring representing the timer and the inner ring divided into three parts.
The outer ring has a white meter that moves counter-clockwise and indicates the time you have left to revive your teammates. If you fail to attack even once, and this meter depletes, and your teammate will die. When attacked, it turns golden and stops depleting.

Avoid letting your teammate die as much as possible; upon death, the character loses a level. This isn’t just bad for them, but also for the entire team.
As for the inner circle, the first time a character dies, only one bar is filled. But the more frequently they die, the more bars get filled up, with the maximum number being three.

If you get revived from all 3 purple bars and die again, the time you stay in Near Death reduces.you may reset the Near Death gauge to its original length by visiting a site of grace.
During Days 1 and 2, if all party members enter the Near Death state, they die and respawn at the closest safe location or last Site of Grace. However, if the whole team dies while fighting a boss at night or the Nightlord of Day 3, it results in defeat, and the expedition ends.
Lastly, here is a usefultip for beginnersand pros alike that can save you from losing a level even if you die: You get one chance to get back your lost level, and that is by recovering your lost runes.
Upon dying, your previous level gets converted into runes, and you can pick them back from the location where you died. But if you die again before collecting it, then you permanently lose a level along with all of your earned runes.

How To Rescue A Teammate From Near Death In Elden Ring Nightreign
You can rescue a teammate from Near Death by repeatedly attacking them until the purple meter disappears. Upon successful revival, the character joins the fight at half HP.
While in battle, it is easy to lose track of where your teammates are, especially if you decide to explore different sections of the map. In such events, you should keep checking their health bar from time to time on the left side of your screen.
They get the purple Near Death circle icon on their health bar when they die. Additionally, upon their death, you also get a notification of which character died in the bottom right corner of the screen.
There isn’t a singular best way to revive a teammate, but for most characters, using their Ultimate ability should do the trick. Guardian andRevenant’s ultimates can easily revive any character, irrespective of whether they have 1 or 3 bars in their Near Death meter.
Aside from those characters, if you are playing someone else or if you don’t have your Ultimate ready, the next best thing you can do is coordinate with your team. The person who has the most health or is comfortable with the boss' moves can act as a distraction. Meanwhile, the other player can revive the fallen teammate.
Revenant is pretty resourceful with her summons. Frederick can be very tanky, so you can spawn him while you and your second teammate focus on rescuing your fallen party member.
Lastly, if you are looking for a slow yet reliable way, then any character that has a bow can barrage the downed player with arrows from a safe distance. Ironeye is the best for this since his arrows are unlimited.
Do remember that this trick works best only the first few times. If your teammate keeps dying, then their meter fills faster, and bows may not work as well the moment you stop attacking.
