Despite the film being released on Max the same day it was released in theatres, the film was a commercial success and won 6 Oscars.

Being the lead, Chalamet was paid the highest among the cast, receiving $2.2 million for his role as Paul Atreides. Momoa, who was fresh off of the success of 2018′Aquaman, came in second place, earning $2 million for his role as Duncan Idaho. However, the women in the film received less compared to them.
