Dragon’s Dogma 2

All Vernworth Drake Locations

Vernworth is a very big area, spanning the northernmost points of the map all the way down to the middle and bottom of the world. Navigating from one end to the other can be quite the journey, and depending on which part of Vernworth territory you find yourself in, the difficulty of the monsters there, drakes included, can range dramatically.

Melve Drake

You will most likely encounter this drake when you enter Melve during theReadvent Of Calamity Quest, though this can be a bit hit or miss depending on what other quests you have done prior. Regardless, you’ll visit Melve often and eventually, will run into a drake attacking the town on one of your visits. After the drake is defeated, you’ll also have the opportunity to unlock one of the best Vocations in the game, theMystic Spearhand.

Northeast Vernworth

This drake you’ll find not far from the rivers seen in the map image above. Although this drake is in the easier part of the Vernworth region, it is one of the harder drakes to take down as it likes to run mid-battle. Make sure you are at a minimum of level 25 to avoid getting slaughtered with one hit. Relentlessly deliver attacks to its weak spot to try to stun the drake and avoid it flying away.

Northwest Harve

This particular drake can be found in a couple of spots in this area, so if you don’t see them when you arrive, do a small, circular sweep of the region and you are bound to stumble upon them. This drake won’t typically attempt to run, but it is a bit more powerful than the last one, so ensure you are adequately prepared.

Ancient Battleground

This is likely the most challenging drake in all of Vernworth as it is found in the highest-level area of the region. This drake uses powerful lightning and explosion attacks to obliterate you and your party. Although there are ballistas nearby that can be utilized to deal considerable damage, don’t rely on it too much as the drake will likely destroy it with their first lightning spell.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: 15 Best Weapons In The Game

Choosing the best weapons in any game is hard. We scoured the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 to present to you the best weapons available in the game.

All Battahl Drake Locations

Many of the drakes found in Battahl are not just random wandering dragons, they are ones tied to major quests you’ll complete near the end game. Because this area is much harder than Vernworth and many of the drakes present are especially formidable, we recommend you avoid them all until you are at least level 40.

Southeast Battahl Forest

This is probably the easiest drake in all of Battahl. You’ll find them relaxing next to a stream, surrounded by many of the poisonous gecko-like monsters known as…x?? Try to keep your distance from the drake while you take out the smaller enemies first. The last thing you want to do is get ganged up on by both. Afterward, you can expect this drake to employ fire, explosive, and lightning attacks.

Dragonsbreath Tower

This particular drake is actually a lesser dragon. Reaching it is quite difficult as you’ll have to climb a literal mountain, facing off against brigands, goblins, and harpies the whole way up. The harpies can be especially troublesome as they will often pick you or your party member up and throw you to your death off the slide of the cliff. Be diligent as you face off against them and make your climb. You’ll find the lesser dragon at the top, just past the Riftstone of the Patterned and a Campsite.

Volcanic Island

This is the most challenging drake we have faced so far in the game. They utilize all abilities you can find with other drakes, the most devastating being the meteor attack that can absolutely obliterate your party. If you’ve found yourself in this area too soon, you’ll likely have a hard time even reaching the drake to begin with. You’ll want to wait until you are closer to level 50 before you attempt to take them on. There are also fire salamanders and harpies in the area that you’ll need to take out first, otherwise you will easily get overwhelmed.

Volcanic Island Camp is the last major town players will find in Dragon’s Dogma 2; here’s everything there is to do.

How To Find Drakes

If you are unsure of which ones you are missing or just want to find them more organically, there is a way to do so. To get a hint as to where a drake may be residing, you’ll need tovisit Luz in the northeastern part of Battahl. Luz is a spirit of a former Arisen and will give you clues to the whereabouts of drakes when you speak to her and pay the small gold fee.

Luz will never tell you outright where a drake is located, so don’t expect to get a map marker each time you visit her. However, her hints are pretty solid, so long as you’ve explored enough of the map to know what they are referring to.
