Dragon Ballfans were more or less skeptical about the release ofDAIMA. The series had a concept that hadn’t worked out before with an idea that seemed to interest no one. When that is the case, how does one attract an audience? The 4th episode brings a lot into the picture. The world building has so far been great with a lot of interesting factors being introduced.

As Goku himself pointed out, Senzu beans may not be a part of the series but a new item, or list of items, makes its introduction. Medi Beans act as power boosts that can activate fusion, revive stamina, heal, and whatnot. The entire concept was interesting to me, adding to how vast of a place the Demon Realm actually is.
Dragon Ball DAIMA is Brewing Something Big
The biggest feeling I got throughout the fourth episode ofDragon Ball DAIMAwas that foreshadowing was what the audience was being presented with. The amount of focus put on the Sea of Darkness makes it almost obvious that Goku or someone else is likely to fall into the pit and it would not be good at all. The entire episode is a fun ride, one that sees the trio powering through despite Glorio’s vehicle being stolen.
As they walk the depths of the Demon Realm, Goku seems to still be unfamiliar with the new environment. After getting used to his smaller body, the newer challenge he faces is the thicker air of the place. It hinders his movements and makes it more difficult for him to keep flying despite having done so for decades.

“He is not worthy of being Goku”: Logan Paul has Every Dragon Ball Fan on His Back with the Worst Halloween Costume Ever
If I had one word to sum up the entire series so far, it would be fun. The creatures, the mysteries, the animation, and the music. Everything makes it a lively experience that would make anyDragon Ballfan remember just why they fell in love with the series in the first place.
The anime may still be in its early stages so it would be wrong to jump to any conclusions or judge how well the story is going. The fourth episode seemed to focus primarily on setting up the upcoming series rather than pushing the plot in front of the fans.

Hunting the Dragon Balls Again
In the first episode, the Demon Realm’s Dragon Balls were introduced. The fact that they were so unreachable made it obvious to me that Goku would aim to get all three of them. In the latest episode, my speculation came true. I would admit that the story so far seems like it should offer more but I am willing to be patient.
Goku wishes to use the Dragon Balls of the Demon Realm to not only restore him and everyone else but also find and bring back Dende. Toei Animation did go all out with its fight sequences, Goku uses his staff and gets into action, something that the series should have shown much earlier on. However, the wait was worth it. The mystery girl getting introduced would definitely be another addition to their team.

Dragon Ball DAIMA: Akira Toriyama’s Parting Gift to Dragon Ball Fans Gracefully Aced the Challenge at Which GT Failed Miserably
One complain that I would like to bring out is how the series has almost abandoned the other characters and focuses entirely on Goku. Characters like Vegeta and Bulma were set to join but that seems to be a case of the distant future. The entire episode felt like it was building up to something and that the fans would have to wait for future episodes to uncover that mystery.
Akira Toriyama also tried moving away from Goku as the main character right after the Cell arc, setting Gohan as the perfect successor. However, that didn’t work out either, making it almost impossible for the series to function without Goku.

If the series were to explore the other characters more, including the newly introduced ones, it would add more layers to the anime. It is already heavily being compared to GT because of the similar concepts and a step towards a different direction such as that of character development outside of Goku would make it exponentially better.
