Regardless of what fans might say, there is no denying that there haven’t been a lot of expectations forCaptain America: Brave New World. With Marvel’s recent track record, audiences expected the franchise to follow a similar pattern with the fourthCaptain Americafilm, even though Chris Evans delivered a perfect trilogy.

However, they have been gladly proven wrong with the recent reviews. Nothing but positive things have come out about the film. Regardless of what the early watchers are saying, the common consensus is that the movie falls in league withShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten RingsandGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
At the same time, the positive reviews are coming with a fair share of criticism. One of the most upsetting opinions relates to fans of Harrison Ford, and they will not be happy.

Captain America: Brave New Worldhas soaring reviews
The release ofCaptain America: Brave New Worldis right around the corner, and fans cannot be more excited. While many questioned the choice to pass the mantle of Captain America down to Sam Wilson,Anthony Mackiehas more than proven himself as the rightful successor.
Although the release is mere days away, the early reviews of the project have come out, and they seem extremely promising. Starting off, many reviewers outright stated that they did not have high expectations. However, they were very quickly proven wrong for this, as the film managed to exceed any predispositions they had for it.

I have seen#CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorldbut can’t speak anything at the moment because of embargo. But expect it at level of Shang Chi and the legends of the Ten Rings and Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2.pic.twitter.com/M0lWvF5a9c
Just saw#CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorldearlier today. Wanted to be hush hush but I couldn’t contain it. Anthony Mackie is Captain America there’s no denying it now. This movie sets up the multiverse saga for a unbelievable run by Marvel. We aren’t ready for what’s next 😭!pic.twitter.com/bu3EOKrwCF

#CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorldis thrillingly tactile and surprisingly leftist on a level that’s freaking sublime. Some of the best content/media of the year so far, the MCU cements its legacy as one of the most sauceful makers working today.pic.twitter.com/3975BzncAr
Marvel Rivals Releasing Special Combo Bundle To Celebrate Anthony Mackie’s Captain America: Brave New World
Mackie’s dynamic with Danny Ramirez was especially praised, along with the banter and themes of the film. They also mentioned its political message, labeling it to be surprisingly leftist. Additionally, they stated that the film feels more like older Marvel projects compared to the newer, more criticized films.
While these paint an excellent picture of the film, there is one very big, red part of the project that is seemingly missing from these reviews.

Harrison Ford fans will be red and fuming
While most reviews focus on the good aspects ofCaptain America: Brave New World, they are not completely exempting the bad. Towards the end of its production, there were some reshoots in the project. One review mentioned that these were somewhat noticeable. They also added that the main villain of the film is quite messy.
When it was first announced thatHarrison Fordwould be coming into the MCU as President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who is also the Red Hulk, fans were extremely excited. However, this has proven to be somewhat of a disappointment for many, as the early reviews state.
I hate to say this but#CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorldwas a big disappointment. Felt very empty & lacks the heart of a Captain America movie. The action is edited to death with thousands of cuts. The dialogue is very cheesy. Weird looking green screens. Undercooked villains. Don’t…pic.twitter.com/8NYExwrWOW
#CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorldboth met & exceeded my low expectations. You can feel the reshoots throughout the film & the main villain was a big miss. But this is the most cohesive the MCU has felt since 2019. Sam has good chemistry w/ his partners & it can deliver the feels.pic.twitter.com/VPUsNxuXeT
“Red Hulk is a beast”: Captain America: Brave New World Reviews Say It’s a Typical MCU Movie but Has the Potential to Kill Kevin Feige’s Biggest Problem
One negative reviewof the film specifically focused on Ford’s portrayal of the highly anticipated and beloved character. Although fans would have wanted a decent amount of screen time for the Red Hulk, they might not get it. This would be truly heartbreaking for fans of Ford, who desperately wanted to see him in the thick of the action.
Captain America: Brave New Worldwill be released on 14th February 2025.
