They are essential for players who want toprogress through the game efficiently. However, farming Legendary Shards can be challenging, especially if you’re abeginner. Fear not! This guide will show you how to farm legendary shards and use them to your advantage.
Dismantle Weapons & Gear
The easiest and most common way to obtain Legendary Shards is by dismantling Legendary and Exotic gear. On dismantling aLegendary weaponor armor, you can expect to receive around 3-5 legendary shards, while an Exotic will yield 6-10 Legendary Shards each time. Therefore, navigate to your inventory, and disassemble all the Legendary and Exotic weapons and armor pieces that are not in use or that you no longer desire. However, ensure not to dismantle the rare items, as you might not get them back.
Make sure to scour yourVaultas well; you might be hanging onto a weapon or armor piece you ultimately don’t really care about.
Complete Playlist Activities
If you don’t have any weapons and armor to dismantle, consider engaging in different activities, such as strikes,Crucible, or Gambit (to name a few). Strikes allow players to earn rewards through PvE, while Gambit and Crucible are popular PvP activities. If available, equip theProsperity Ghost Modto increase the likelihood of additional Legendary Shards.
Increase Vendor Reputation
To earn Legendary Shards in Destiny 2, ranking up your vendors at the Tower is a great way to do so. All you have to do is complete Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit matches to increase your experience with Zavala, Lord Shaxx, and the Drifter (respectively), and in return, they’ll reward you with Legendary Weapons and Armor. Once you have these items, simply dismantle them to obtain the Legendary Shards.
Season Pass Rewards
By progressing through the levels of yourSeason Pass, you can earn Legendary Shards. Although purchasing a season pass is not required to get Legendary Shards, it will ensure an ample amount. However, if you purchase the season pass and reach Rank 20, you will receive aLegendary Shard Dismantle Bonusfor the rest of the season. This bonus gives an extra Legendary Shard each time you dismantle any weapon or gear.
