What Happened Previously On Demon Slayer?
Muichiro, who had fallen out of the water pot, struggled to remove the poison-laden needles that had pierced his body. He noticed Kotetsu lying unconscious while fish Demons lurked nearby. Powerless and unable to stand, Muichiro helplessly witnessed the imminent threat to Kotetsu’s life.
In a moment of desperation, memories flashed before Muichiro’s eyes, recalling his father’s encouragement and the hardships he had endured as a young boy. He remembered his mother’s deteriorating condition, his father’s tragic accident while gathering medicinal herbs, and the revelation of his twin brother, Yuichiro. Muichiro reflected on the strained relationship with Yuichiro, marked by harsh words and a deep sense of loneliness.
After introducing herself as the wife of the Demon Slayer Corps' leader, Amane offered a proposition to Yuichiro, but he hostilely rejected her and demanded she leaves. Later, Muichiro excitedly shared his discovery about their lineage as descendants of the first Breathing Style swordsmen, expressing his desire to become swordsmen themselves to help those affected by Demons.
However, Yuichiro angrily dismissed his optimism, criticizing their parents' actions and belittling their own worth. Their bitter argument led to a rift between them. One night, a Demon intruded into their home and targeted Muichiro, but Yuichiro bravely intervened and lost his left arm in the process.
Muichiro, consumed by an uncontrollable rage, brutally massacred the Demon. Exhausted and injured, Muichiro crawled back home, determined to reach his twin. Yuichiro, realizing his mistake and blaming himself, prayed for his brother’s survival. Back to the present, he used his Mist Breathing technique to swiftly dispatch the fish Demons and attended to Kotetsu’s request to protect Hotaru and the swords.
Meanwhile, Gyokko was infuriated by Hotaru’s determination and decided to kill Kozo. However, Muichiro’s sudden appearance and attack surprised Gyokko, who unleashed his Blood Demon Art, but Muichiro tackled it easily. Muichiro wielded his new blade and apologized to Tetsuido for causing worry. He then swiftly cut through Gyokko’s tentacles, evading his attacks and poisonous needles. He slashed away Gyokko’s vases, making Gyokko furious.
