Behaviour Interactive released a vintageScream-style teaser trailer for the next masked murderer to graceDead by Daylight–Ghostface.
Equal parts irreverent and spooky, the trailer opens with a lackadaisical Ghostface doing some shopping at his local home improvement store. He picks up some essentials: rope, tape, and a knife, then heads out after leaving the cashier a heavy tip. No definitive information was given on what we can expect from the Ghostface DLC, or when we can expect it. A more complete reveal will be shown atDead by Daylight’s three-year anniversary stream on May 31, 3:00 p.m. EST.
Looking atDead by Daylight’s year three roadmap, we could see an additional map and survivor from theScreamseries. As far as what abilities Ghostface will have, they’ll probably be centered around what we’ve seen in the films–just as we saw withLeatherface,Freddy Krueger, andMichael Myers.Screamhas always been aware of horror tropes and likes to play with that meta-knowledge. Ghostface himself often employs that knowledge to get a leg up on his victims–just as often as he’s been defeated by it. Any abilities possessed by Ghostface and whatever survivor accompanies him could (and should) keep that in mind.
InDead by Daylight,layers take on the role of survivor or killer. A team of four survivors must perform a set of tasks necessary to reveal their escape point all while sneaking past the killer and avoiding traps. The killer must simply make sure nobody leaves alive. Equipped with his trusty knife and a mysterious presence called The Entity, Ghostface seems like a worthy figure to take up the task.
Dead by Daylightis a survival-horror multiplayer game that was released on PC in June 2016 then on PS4 and Xbox One in June 2017. Itlands on the Nintendo Switch September 24.
