Star Wars: Clone Warswas a brilliant show that managed to fix a key issue with the prequel trilogy. The focus on the Clone Army of the Republic managed to pay off big time forStar Wars, with Dave Filoni delivering some of the best content to come out of the franchise.

Dave Filoni, in an interview with StarWars.com, revealed how focused George Lucas was on the show, and how important it was for him to get it right. A lot went into the show, but there was one aspect that Lucas wanted to make sure was executed to perfection in the show.
The Clone Warsneeded to get the Clones’ arcs right
The Clone Warswas able to endear the Clones to the audience, which was something that a lot of fans felt was missing from the Prequel trilogy.Dave Filoni, talking about the Clones toStarWars.com, talked about what George Lucas had in mind for them and the characters around them. He said:
George really got on a bend of having an episode about the droids, an episode about the Jedi, an episode about politics. And when I say episode, I mean arc. And he kind of liked to hit those different themes every season.

While the show did well for the Clones, Filoni and Lucas were also laser-focused on doing justice to the side characters of the show, who received just as much attention, regardless of whether they were Clones, Droids, or Jedi.
The Sequel Trilogy couldn’t even do the main characters justice
The Sequel Trilogy did a great job of setting u very interesting character arcs with the first film, but immediately dropped the ball with the subsequent two films. Without a proper focus on these characters, fans felt much more comfortable disengaging with the material, which led to the fall of the franchise.

Not only was there an improper focus on side characters, but the main cast of the films was also not treated very well. Even returning characters like Luke, Han, and Leia got the short end of the stick, never receiving the reunion scene that fans felt they deserved.
However, there seems to be a direction change at Disney behind the scenes, which might yield a brighter future for the franchise. With multiple films in the works,Star Warsmight want to focus on delivering on a lot of what it has promised, which seems to be a department that the franchise has been lacking in for a while.
