While Sony is home to a lot of amazing games made by the PlayStation division’s first-party studios, the PlayStation Store is littered withAI-riddled games and shovelware.
Aside from offering little to no value to gamers, these shovelware titles can also fool gamers out of their hard-earned money, as that’s just what happened recently.

Rumor: Gears of War Collection Loaded Into PlayStation Store Backend, But One Major Feature Is Missing
Gears of War Collection has allegedly been uploaded on the PlayStation Store backend and is set for release in August.
PSN Users Fooled By Game Clone That Sony Allowed On Its Digital Store
The game being cloned is R.E.P.O. by semiwork, a horror-themed PC-only game that’s about online co-op with friends. Needless to say, this has been a surprise hit since it was released in Early Access on Steam this February.
Unfortunately, the game isn’t available on PlayStation, but people don’t know that. There is a game copying it on the PSN Store titled “R.E.P.O.: Ghost Haul” that’s priced at $9.99, which is the same price as the original REPO game is on Steam. Naturally, some people got duped, and they’re left buying a game they didn’t want in the first place.

Here’s the kicker though: the PSN Store doesn’t offer refunds like Steam. Or if it does, it’s not an easy process to do so. People onRedditare upset that this copycat game is available on the PSN Store in the first place.
This isn’t the first copycat game on PSN nor will it be the last. Checking the PSN Store, you will see a lot of what appears to be poorly-made games or even ones that are very suggestive, trying to lure people into testing it out.

PlayStation Adds Exciting Freebies With New April PS Plus Premium Content
These are freebies that you probably don’t even know get new content every month.
That said, there is a chance people can claim a refund for this so-called game. People just have to wade through the customer service waters first, but once you’re talking to someone, mention how the game is copying a really popular PC game. Not only that, but also mention how it advertises itself as a multiplayer game, which it’s not, as it’s an entirely single-player experience.

The odd thing here is: how come Sony allows these kinds of games on their marketplace? Shouldn’t someone check it for plagiarism, quality or something to make sure it doesn’t tarnish the company’s reputation? The increasing use of AI (Artifical Intelligence) by game developers only mean we’ll be seeing more of this shovelware tripe. Heck, evenSony is jumping on the AI bandwagon big-time, in case you didn’t know.
