We’re waiting for the movie to start and it hit me. I realised that it hadn’t been since The Matrix that I was actually that interested in seeing a movie even though I didn’t know what I was going to see.

That’s almost something you expect from Tarkovsky or Malick, not a science fiction adventure movie.

In a separate interview withVariety, Nolan was asked if he would like to make a horror film. He answered he would“love to make a horror film,”but he has not found a story that will convince him to make one. He said,

I think horror films are very interesting because they depend on very cinematic devices, itreallyis about a visceral response to things and so, at some point, I’d love to make a horror film. But I think a really good horror film requires areallyexceptional idea. And those are few and far between. So I haven’t found a story that lends itself to that.

Nevertheless, it would be interesting to learn what Nolan is going to do in his next project.
