Activisionis once again causing a stir in theCall of Dutycommunity. This time, it’s over a newly released operator skin which grants the player and their party with double XP and double weapon XP.

While some are (rather foolishly)calling this new bundle a ‘pay-to-win’skin, I say this is a win for all of the casual players out there who don’t get to grind out weapon attachments and levels every single day. Sure, the skin itself is questionable, but I’m willing to look past that to make the Call of Duty grind just a little bit easier.

Warzone Players Are Being Mocked For “Stacking,” Even Though It’s How You’re Supposed To Play

It’s time to stop getting angry at people for playing a team-based mode correctly.

The bundle in question is called the “Killer Serial Creep Party Pack” and can be purchased from the in-game store for a total of 1,600 COD Points. Alongside the skin and added bonuses, you’ll also receive two weapon blueprints. One is for the BP50 Assault Rifle and the second is for the Longbow Sniper Rifle. Also included is a large decal, weapon charm, and weapon sticker. All of which fit with the rather odd serial killer vibes of the bundle.

Is The Serial Killer Bundle Pay-To-Win?

Call of Duty’s latest operator skin has sparked a debate in the community about whether or not it can be classified as ‘pay-to-win’. For those who might not be familiar with the term, it’s exactly as the name implies. Through in-game microtransactions, players can pay for a digital item that gives them a greater advantage in a live service game.

It’s becoming less and less common for studios to include pay-to-win elements in their live service games, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely obsolete. Mobile titles such as Candy Crush are often the number one culprit, with triple-a games such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty often offering cosmetic items, as opposed to items that offer a competitive advantage.

So, does this new bundle offer any sort of advantage over your opponents? Some fans seem to think so, while others think even suggesting that it may be pay-to-win is ludicrous.

The short answer is no, this bundle does not offer you a competitive advantage over your opponents. The only thing it does is make the grind a little quicker for the 9-5 working folk who can only put in an hour or two of playtime every now and then. Is it going to make you any better at the game? No, no it is not.

Call of Duty: Warzone

Sure, it might allow you to unlock one of the free weapons included in the battle pass a little quicker, but given that those weapons are, as I just mentioned, free, it can’t be classed as pay-to-win. And lets face it, we’ve all got an abundance of double XP tokens stacked up anyway, so is this bundle really worth making a fuss over?
