Bloodline Rules is coming toWWE 2K25. Based on the popular WWE match type, most famously seen at the WrestleMania XL main event between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, it is known for featuring several run-ins interrupting the match.
Visual Concepts wanted to pay respects to its unique rules and quirks when bringing the match type to the game. During a media call announcing the game’s new features, the team had to ask themselves, “What is a Bloodline Rules match? The answer: it’s built around run-ins. There’s a new payback ability to help it differentiate itself from other run-ins. There’s also a special presentation to help drive the theme home.”
Intergender Wrestling Is Finally Coming to WWE 2K25
Bloodline Rules isn’t the only new match type featured inWWE 2K25. The team was happy to announce that Intergender Wrestling is finally coming.
They’ve wanted to do this feature for a while, but it’s been challenging. “It’s not something that often appears on programming,” they said. We want [the game] to be a reflection of the product you see on TV."
Even though the match type is rare on WWE television, Visual Concepts agreed it is finally time to bring intergender wrestling to the games.
Underground Matches are another new match type introduced inWWE 2K25, presenting a scenario where players can wrestle in a ring without ropes. The goal here is to upend how combat feels in-game.

The newest entry in the WWE 2K franchise is releasing this March.
It’s not just about the matches here. Barricade diving is back, featuring upgraded LED boards that will cause permanent damage during a match. Wrestlers will also have specific movesets available when fighting near barricades.
Additionally, Chain Wrestling is returning for the first time sinceWWE 2K20. The team aims to give players new strategies and introduce new animations surrounding locks, grapples, and holds that commonly occur at the start of a match.
WWE 2K25will release March 14th onPlayStation 4,Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, andSteam.
