With theSilent Hill 2remake confirmed to bea success in terms of sales, and we’re not even a full month from its release, some mght be wondering whether we’ll see developer Bloober Team continue to re-imagine the first Silent Hill game, or even Silent Hill 3.

While nothing has been announced, the studio did confirm it’s something they’d be interested in doing. In aninterview, Bloober Team director Wojciech Piejko mentions that they are “always open” to all opportunities, and this includes developing future Silent Hill games.

There are opportunities that you have to seize. Like Silent Hill 2, you can remake the legend. So yeah, I do believe that everything’s possible.

So far, Konami has not said anything about the franchise’s future. That said, given the reception the Silent Hill 2 remake is getting, I doubt the company will stay quiet for long. Before the Silent Hill 2 remake was released earlier this month, the last mainline entry to the game was Silent Hill 4: The Room, which was released way back in 2004. Since then, Konami has released various spin-offs that failed to capture the success of the earlier entries in the franchise.

What’s Next for Bloober Team?

The studio unveiled Cronos: The New Dawn recently during the Xbox Partner Preview event, and it’s sci-fi horror game set in a post-apocalyptic future in 1980’s Poland. Players will take on the role of a Traveler with a mission to extract selected people who didn’t survive the the apocalypse from the past. This will be the studio’s first survival horror game based on an original IP, and if the level of quality of this upcoming horror game is anything close to Silent Hill 2, then fans are in for a treat.
