Just 72 hours after its release,Marvel Rivalsabsolutely smashed all the records with over 10 million downloads. This free-to-play hero shooter was released on July 02, 2025, across all the popular platforms, featuring 33 superstars from theMarveluniverse.
Besides having characters like Moon Knight, Star-Lord, Jeff, Hela, and many more, the game also boasts of the OG Avengers from theMCU: Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Thor, and Black Widow. However, if six of these highly popular characters ever team up, then it will be very easy to beat them.
The OG Avengers inMarvel Rivalsare very vulnerable
Marvel Rivalsis a 6v6 hero shooter title. So, you can easily stack up the OG Avengers in the same team in a match. However, as lethal as they looked inThe Avengers(2012), the scenario is completely different in the game. Here, these 6 superheroes are pretty vulnerable and weak as a team.

In the movie as well, at the beginning, there was no synergy or composition. But later on, they shaped themselves up and went on to beat Loki and Thanos’ troops. On the other hand, these 6 characters look clueless when they team up together. Just imagineif the Mad Titan ever joined the roster, what would have happened to the“Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!”
Marvel Rivals Has a Disastrous Design Flaw in Quick Match That Will Push Fans to Abandon the Game if Not Fixed
The major reason for this is that there is no Strategist in the team, as three of them are Duelists (Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye) and the remaining three are Vanguards (Hulk, Thor, and Captain America). Also, none of the heroes has a healing ability which is an absolute must in any PvP title. The game features loads of Team-Up abilities, but it’s a shame that there is no specific team-up ability for the OG Avengers.
Black Widow is pretty weak inMarvel Rivals
Another major concern for this team is Black Widow’s poor ability set. Frankly speaking, this Duelist is the weakest link that is dragging its team down. Her Red Room Rife and Straight Shooter abilities are quite average.
Not only that, her ultimate ability called Electro-Plasma Explosion is so poor that the plasma burst from the gun needs at least 5-6 shots to completely kill Hulk, which is also pretty time-consuming. Yes, Black Widow has both ranged and melee-based abilities, but NetEase Games needs to improve her skills in the former category. Not only Black Widow, but thedevelopers also need to buff another Duelist of the game.

To use their abilities to their best potential, Black Widow always needs to get to a higher platform where her attacks will get some height. Another drawback of her kit is that after she fires her shots, her approximate location is revealed. So, she has to maneuver and reposition herself all the time.
