Increase Your Immobilization & Unlock Pillar Stance

As the Whiteclad Noble’s attacks are all mainly ground attacks, it can be very helpful tohave access to thePillar Stanceso you may get up high and render their attacks useless.

Plus, it can also be helpful to bulldoze through the difficult encounters in this game withthe aid of the immobilization spell, which should be upgraded by awakening Sparks that power up this ability.

The Whiteclad Noble in Black Myth: Wukong

As we mentioned already, this fight is a really tough one and signals the training wheels being taken off.

The Whiteclad Noble is a two-phase fight, which means you pretty much need to ace the opening phase to stand a chance of beating them during their powered-up second phase. Here’s how the fight plays out:

When you enter the White Mist Marsh you’ll see the Whiteclad Noble across the water, and when you see their health bar on screen, that’s when the fight begins. As soon as this happens, they willlaunch a piercing attack at you, which you will need to dodge. You can also use Immobilization when they mid-attack to get some early hits in.

This fluffy beast won’t go down without a fight!

After this initial exchange, chances are that the Whiteclad Noble will stand off you and keep a distance. This is a good opportunity to rush in, get 1-2 hits, and then dip out and get ready for their counterattack.

They have quite a few attacks they can make use of during this phase. They have a water projectile attack where they will launch a series of wave attacks at you before concluding with a physical attack. And they also have water surge attacks where they will throw their weapon to the floor, and then it will pulse to create a strong surge of water.

Honestly, these are the easier attacks to read and avoid, because their physical attacks are much more aggressive, and usually chain one after the other.

One of the most deadly attacks is his spinning staff attack, where they will spin on their planted staff before attacking swiftly once and then following up with yet another sneaky attack. It’s best to time the first two dodges well, and then launch into a counter after the third successful dodge.

Other than this, they have a few simple combos that can be dodged with ease, allowing you nice windows to land a few hits.

My top tips for this phase would be to make the most of your immobilization spell, try to get some distance when they start chaining melee attacks, and avoid getting stuck in the corner, as they will punish you.

Provided you get through the majority of this phase unscathed, you should be in a good position to take on the Whiteclad Noble’s half-snake true form.

This phase is much tougher as their attacks have less obvious tells, making perfect dodges much harder to achieve, and they hit much harder than before.

This phase will open up with a wave attack where they will launch two projectiles before rushing you with a powerful blow. The two projectiles can be dodged by walking left or right, but avoiding the rush attack requires precise timing.

Plus, you will also need to watch out for their attack that sends a pulse of water in a straight line toward you. This is best avoided by dodging left or right.

Other than this, they will use a range of less complex melee combos and move below the water’s surface to get distance from the player. It’s best to try and stay offensive in this phase,as they are less effective when pushed into walls and corners, allowing you to chain attacks.

Then additionally, if you can try to create windowswhere you can complete your full melee comboto land the final blow each time, this can stagger the boss, allowing for a few more extra hits and prevent them for launching into a powerful attack of their own.

It’s also very helpful to saveyour Guangmou Spirit transformationuntil this phase, as this may be enough to get you over the line.

This is a fight that will require a very solid understanding of this boss' moveset, but with perseverance, you’ll take them down and be able to wave goodbye to the White Mist Marsh.

If you manage to defeat the Whiteclad Noble, you’ll earn the following rewards for your efforts:

None of these rewards will feel all that important right now,but the Jade Fang is a good get,as this will allow you to craft powerful new weapons later down the line.

However, in the short term, a Spark Point and the joy of overcoming this tough boss will need to be reward enough. You can now progress onward to Black Wind Cave.
