According toThe Things, two months after Ivy Park was launched, it was alleged that they used to rely on the poverty-stricken people of Sri Lanka. The term ‘sweatshop’ was used to refer to the singer’s production place.

The mostly female workers earn 4.30 pounds a day, or $6.17, and could never afford to buy a pair of Ivy Park leggings, which can cost 100 pounds, $144.

She had a meeting at Reebok, and they had a whole presentation of everything, potential products, how this could all look. She kinda took a step back and said ‘Is this the team that would be working on my product?’

DePaula further continued,

And somebody said ‘yes’ and she said ‘nobody in this room reflects my background, my skin color, and where I’m from and what I want to do.’ And so she kinda took a step back and left and then, it did not come to terms.

It was revealed in 2019 (sometime after the Rebook ordeal) that Adidas and Beyoncé were partnering up where Adidas would relaunch Ivy Park under their umbrella.
