Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stephens

Elizabeth Montgomery starred as Samantha Stephens, a kind-hearted witch who tries to live a normal suburban life while balancing her magical heritage. Samantha’s character broke stereotypes, showcasing a strong and independent woman in a time when television often depicted women in domestic roles. Montgomery’s portrayal earned her five Primetime Emmy Award nominations and four Golden Globe Award nominations.

Dick York and Dick Sargent as Darrin Stephens

Dick York originally played Darrin Stephens, Samantha’s mortal husband who frequently found himself the target of his in-laws’ magical antics. York’s career in Hollywood began early, but he faced severe back pain due to an injury, ultimately leaving the series after the fifth season. York passed away in 1992 from emphysema at age 63.

Dick Sargent took over the role of Darrin for the last three seasons. Sargent was a seasoned actor, known for appearances in shows likeThe WaltonsandDukes of Hazzard. He continued acting until his passing from prostate cancer in 1994, at the age of 64.

Erin Murphy  as Tabitha Stephens

Erin Murphy, who played Samantha and Darrin’s daughter, Tabitha Stephens, is one of the last surviving cast members from the original show. Murphy began portraying Tabitha from season three, sharing the role initially with her twin sister, Diane, before taking on the part solo. Today, Murphy works as a writer forPeoplemagazine, occasionally reminiscing about her time onBewitchedand sharing stories from behind the scenes.

She’s also made occasional appearances on reality TV and works as a correspondent for various entertainment outlets.
