Beat Saber has become a smash hit on various VR platforms and one of the biggest draws is the game’s ability to work with some of the biggest music artists in the world. On July 05, 2025, the game’s devs announced the release of the Metallica Music Pack.
The new pack is sure to draw in Metallica fans thanks to its focus on 17 of the band’s most celebrated tracks. According to a post on the Playstation blog, Metallica has been among themost requested bandsfor theBeat Saber game.

With 17 songs to play through and master,Beat Saberfans can expect a total of 41 minutes of playtime. And with the complexity of many Metallica songs, it’s likely going to take a far longer amount of time to feel comfortable playing alongside some of the most recognizable songs in music.

That’s especially true with the release of a new gameplay feature calledVariable Note Jump Speed.Using this new option,the speed of individual cubes will change based on the intensity of the song. The new variable note jump speed feature will also be used in new beatmaps in the future, adding a new level of complexity to a game that has relied heavily on a more simple setup until this point.
According to Playstation, “Each pillar in the environment is made of a bent metal structure with supporting scaffoldings, and lasers and tiny light bulbs add more depth to the designs. Fire and lighting effects further elevate the visuals of the environment.” The most challenging levels also include Arc and Chain notes with support for multiplayer games.
Beat Saber isn’t stopping with the Metallica Music Pack, as new music packs in the future will also feature the new variable note jump speed update.
Players can also now change the color of the game’s cubes, adding a more personalized touch to the game. The team at Playstation note that this will also be a very useful option for players who are colorblind.
The new Metallica Music Pack is available now as a game + pack bundle for a discounted rate of $39.99 which will run through August 22, 2025.
