What is Basal Cell Carcinoma?

As we mentioned earlier, basal cell carcinoma is regarded as a non-melanoma cancer. It means that although it is a type of cancer, but it doesn’t pose a huge threat to the life of the patient.

Moreover, they are regarded as the most common type of cancer, at least in the United Kingdom. One may wonder how does basal cell carcinoma develops in a person.

Considering it’s a skin cancer, it’s obvious that prolonged exposure to the sun is the leading cause for it. On top of that, if a person gets a severe sunburn, it certainly increases the chances of developing this type of non-melanoma cancer.

Although the cancer is rarely fatal, it’s tough to get completely rid of it. After all, even Hugh Jackman has had six skin surgeries since 2013 to treat the cancer. As of April 2023, Hugh Jackman is living a cancer-free life and thanks his fans for the immense support he has received over the years.
