Possible Endings To The Chosen Of Shar Companion Quest
There are a number of endings to this quest depending on your choices. If you successfully bring Shadowheart to the Nightsong with the Spear of Night, she will want to kill the Nightsong. However, Balthazar won’t allow this.
Any ending other than supporting Balthazar will result in Ketheric Thorm losing his immortality.

Allowing Balthazar To Complete His Mission
If you choose to let Balthazar live, he will bring the Nightsong to Ketheric Thorm in Moonrise Towers. This will make Shadowheart very angry, as it prevents her from becoming a Dark Justiciar. Depending on your relationship with Shadowheart, she may even leave the party.
Killing The Nightsong Yourself
This is the most antisocial outcome of the quest, where you prevent Balthazar from taking the Nightsong only to kill her yourself. Denying Shadowheart the opportunity to kill the Nightsong in this way will enrage her, and she may even attack you.
Letting Shadowheart Kill The Nightsong
This is the most straightforward ending to this quest and will make Shadowheart a true Dark Justiciar. Additionally, she will be very happy with you and receive a new mission from her goddess.
Sparing The Nightsong
This outcome is very emotionally wrought for Shadowheart because it results in a loss of her connection with her goddess, Shar. However, a fledgling connection with Selune forms, allowing her to keep her Clerical Powers.
