Baldur’s Gate 3has countless NPCs that you can meet and build relationships with on your journey across the Forgotten Realms. Some of these NPCs are only in the game for a short while, whileothers may stay for the game..
One NPC that you can speak to multiple times throughout the game is Derryth. You can find her in Act 1 if you take theUnderdarkpath to the Shadow Cursed Lands. You can also meet her again in Act 3 in her shop in Baldur’s Gate.
Who Is Derryth?
Derryth Bonecloak can first be found in the Underdark in the Myconid Colony. Her husband, Baelen, has gone looking for Nightstalk Mushrooms and hasn’t returned to her.You canhelp her find him and bring him back, or you can leave him to his fate. Even if you go help him, he can die anyway, depending on how you approach the situation. After returning to Derryth (with or without her husband), she will thank you for your help. However, speaking to her more reveals that her husband may not have been the best man ever. While she never outright says it, she very much hints at the idea that her husband had been abusing her for years.
How To Give Her A Pet
When you visit Derryth in Baldur’s Gate if her husband wasn’t saved in Act 1, she will lament about her late husband.She will say that she truly believes he was a good person and that he is in the City of Judgement in the afterlife. However, she will tell you multiple times that she is just lonely running her apothecary shop all by herself. Thankfully, you are able to fix this pretty easily.you may find three cats roaming the town outside of her shop: Barsik, Malta, and Myshka. If you approach one of these cats, you can ask them if they would like to stay in the shop.They will then go in and keep Derryth company in her lonesome shop. This will make both her and the cat happy.
