Baldur’s Gate 3: Best Party Compositions
There are many ways to build your party. We’ll walk you through the best compositions you may choose from.
A Cleric’s primaryAbilitiesare Wisdom and Strength. Wisdom fueling theirspells, just like a Druid andRanger. Strength, on the other hand, determines how much melee damage they can dish out. The Cleric has a wide range of different subclasses and Domains, each bringing with them plenty of spells and features to give them a unique feel from one another.

7Nature Domain
The Nature Domain is for players who like the idea ofbuilding a Druidbut want to keep the playstyle of a Cleric. You will gain any onecantripfrom the Druid Spell List, and it will not count to the limit of how many cantrips you normally would be allowed to know. You will also be able to charm both animals and plants.
Once you hit level 6, you will be able to start using your reaction to grant resistance to yourself, or any other creature, against various types of damage. This includes acid, cold, fire, lightning, and thunder damage types. At level 8, you will be able to add 1d8 cold, lightning, or fire-type damage to your weapon attacks on each of your turns.

6War Domain
Players who want to have aFighterthat can also cover their Intelligence rolls have the Eldritch Knight option for their subclass, but a War Domain Cleric is for players who want to play a Fighter that can also cover their Wisdom rolls. The War Domain will give your Cleric proficiency in Martial Weapons and Heavy Armor, just like a fighter. The War Domain will also grant the War Priest feature, which will let you make an attack as a Bonus Action.
The number of times you may do this will be equal to your Wisdom Modifier, and Wisdom should be your highest Ability due to being a Cleric. When you channel your divinity, you will have the option to have it manifest in the form of a Guided Strike, or War God’s Blessing. With Guided Strike, you can turn a failed hit into a successful one by giving the roll +10 after you have seen the dice roll results. With War God’s Blessing, you can do the exact same thing but for others instead of yourself. Lastly, Divine Strike will let you roll an extra 1d8 of damage that matches your weapon’s damage type.

5Life Domain
This is another one of the Cleric subclasses that will give you proficiency in Heavy Armor. This Domain is all about restoring more HP than normal when it comes to casting healing spells. One of the biggest pros about this Domain is the additional spells that come with it. At level 3, you will have access to Cure Wounds and Bless. Bless allows all 3 teammates of the one casting it to add 1d4 to all of their attack rolls and saving throws so long as the Cleric can maintain concentration.
Baldur’s Gate 3: 25 Best Feats, Ranked
There are many feats to consider when building your character. Here are the best ones to consider.
This can last for 10 turns if they are not interrupted at this time. This is a truly amazing spell for the first few rounds of combat while all members of the group are still in full health and have all their resources ready to go. Cure Wounds is better than Healing Word between encounters, due to it having a higher die to roll. However, Healing Word can be cast at a distance and as a Bonus Action. This means with Healing Word, you will be able to use your Action to still attack.

4Trickery Domain
Blessing of the Trickster is a brilliant feature for this subclass. It will let you use your Action to give your chosen target Advantage on their Stealth checks. This will give your scouting character a massive cushion if they fumble their first Stealth roll. In Addition, you can use the Guidance cantrip directly afterward, so they can add 1d4 for an even higher chance of success. This is no replacement for aRogueor ShadowMonk, but rather helps them do what they do best.
This entry was debated if it should be ranked higher or lower than the Life Domain subclass, but it came out on top due to its versatile arrangement of Domain Spells. From Dispel Magic to Polymorph, this subclass boasts a great lineup of spells. This is also the Domain that one of the game’scompanions, Shadowheart, will use.

3Knowledge Domain
The Knowledge Domain subclass is one of those subclasses that gives you so much to round out a party composition. It lets you gain 2 languages and 2 skill proficiencies. The options for these proficiencies are Arcana, History, Nature, and Religion. These are all Intelligence skills, meaning it’s a good call to make your Intelligence Ability one of your main focuses. If you have a Sorcerer in your party, this can completely remove the need to have aWizard. However, you may still want to build around a Wizard if you prefertheir spelllist over the cleric’s.
What makes this even better is that your proficiency bonus for these two skills is doubled. If that was not enough, you can use your Channel Divinity to select any skill or tool of your choice and instantly become proficient in that skill or tool for 10 minutes. At level 6 your cleric can read mind and issue commands to targets, and at level 8 they can add their Wisdom modifier to damage dealt by their cantrips.
2Light Domain
The Light Domain subclass is a simple, yet highly effective one. It brings the most utility out of any previously mentioned entry, while also bringing a great role in combat. The Light Domain gives you access to one of thebest cantrips, Light. This covers any character that does not have Darkvision. They have the spells Faerie Fire to give Advantage to attacks against that target and reveal the target if it is invisible.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Best Cleric Build
Want to build the best Cleric for your party? Here’s what you need to know.
Burning Hands is an all-around solid offensive spell. They do not have Heavy Armor proficiency, but they have the Warding Flare feature, which makes enemies trying to attack them do so at Disadvantage. All of this synergizes well and makes them a well-rounded choice for a Cleric subclass. Clerics such as these can be seen as the Wisdom caster version of aPaladin.
1Tempest Domain
Just like the War Domain, this Domain will grant you proficiency in Martial Weapons and Heavy Armor. What the Tempest Domain does phenomenally better than the War Domain is how it issues out extra damage. The War Domain lets you deal 1d8 damage as a Bonus Action, while the Tempest Domain lets you dish out 2d8 damage as a Reaction. Not only is this more damage, but you can choose between the damage types in case the target is resistant to one or the other. This makes this a greatmulticlass option for a Cleric/Sorcerer— or even splashing it with aWarlock.
The damage type choices are lightning and thunder. You can spend your Channel Divinity to make any lightning or thunder damage deal its maximum amount. Thunderous Strike lets you push any small or large enemy hit by your lightning damage up to 10 feet away. Divine Strike lets you deal an extra 1d8 of thunder damage whenever you hit a target with a weapon attack. All of this synergy is just incredible. Their Domain Spells are just flooded with storm-themed spells. This class was added to the tabletop version of D&D through one of itslater sourcebooks.
