Druids, the guardians of nature, were one of the first classes to be added duringBaldur’s Gate’s 3early access development. Now in full release, they offer an interesting playstyle with their innate shapeshifting and masterful spell casting. A Druid shapeshifter can be one of the tankiest party members both in-game and on the tabletop.

Updated by Mitchell Reid on July 28, 2025:There is a lot of equipment in Baldur’s Gate 3, so in case you’ve missed some gear, or it’s already used by another party member, we’ve added this list to include some alternative items.

15Markoheshkir

Elemental Mastery And Free Spells

As spellcasters, Druids vie for the chance to wield Markoheshkir, the game’s most powerful staff. It empowers your Druid by increasing their spell attack and save difficulty by one. Simply put, your spells are more likely to succeed with this staff.

The staff also has an arcane battery, letting you cast any spell without expending a spell slot. You also can gain any elemental resistance of your choice and change it every short rest. you’re able to retrieve Markoheshkir from the vaults under Ramazinth’s Tower.

14Shapeshifter Hat

More Wild Shapes, Better Druid

When you wild shape, all of your magic gear is subsumed into your new beastly form, so it’s good to seek gear that supports that without becoming useless while transformed. If you’re focused on wild shapes, this hat lets you do more of what you love, increasing your total wild shape charges by one.

This charge comes back only by a long rest, instead of a short rest like the rest will. You also gain a +1 boost to nature. You can buy the hat from Helsik at the Devil’s Fee.

13Barkskin Armor

Reliable Mid-Game Protection

As a Druid, your main stats will be wisdom and constitution. Your physical stats will often be overwritten by wild shapes, and even if they’re not, they will be lacking. The Armor of Barkskin supplements a low dexterity by increasing your AC to 16 if it would be lower naturally.

Unfortunately, the effect doesn’t persist into your wild shapes like the actual Barkskin spell can. You do gain advantage on constitution saves, like concentration checks. If you’re playing a Druid, you know how essential those are. It’s a good act-two armor and can be purchased from quartermaster Talli.

12Armor Of Moonbasking

Improved Wild Shape

The Armor of Moonbasking is one of the few exceptions to the wild shape rule. Its magic effects are made to persist while part of yourshapeshifted form. As its name suggests, it’s especially good for Circle of the Moon Druids. You can buy it from Voiceless Penitent Bareki.

Baldur’s Gate 3: 10 Best Druid Spells

Druids need to pick and choose which spells deserve a spot on their spell list. Here is a list of the best Spell Druids to get access to in BG3.

When you wild shape, you gain 22 temporary hitpoints and reduce incoming damage by one while they persist. You also gain a +2 boost to AC and advantage on spell-imposed saving throws. These effects do extend to your wild shapes, making this armor without a doubt the best Druid armor in the game.

11Cloak Of The Weave

Improved Spells And Reactive Protection

Most Druid gear revolves around improving your wild shapes and your stats through nature magic. Your spell save DC is a bit harder to raise through these gear options, so it’s important to wear the Cloak of the Weave as a Druid. With this cloak, your spell attacks and save DC will increase by another point.

You also gain a casting of absorb elements once per short rest. Since elemental damage is quite common in Act Three, you will get your value from this cloak. Helsik will sell it to you once her special stock is opened to you.

10The Reviving Hands

Restore Health, Bestow Resilience

Druids can serve as healers in your adventuring party, and The Reviving Hands are the best gloves to support that role. Their unique ability, Aegis Palms, grants any target the Druid heals the effect of Bladeward. It turns all your healing into buff spells, reducing all physical damage taken.

You also gain an extra casting of revivify. When you dorevive someone, they gain Deathward, preventing them from hitting zero hit points once. You can, and should, buy them from Vicar Humbletoes in Baldur’s Gate’s lower city.

9Gauntlet Of The Tyrant

Command Your Foes

The Gauntlet of the Tyrant is one of two gloves in the game that can provide a boost to your spell save DC, and of the two, it’s the easier to acquire. Not only that, its bound spell, Command, is useful for Druids as a means of crowd control, and it doesn’t require their concentration.

Command is cast as a third-level spell through the gauntlet, letting you target three enemies at a time. Your unarmed attacks also deal a d4 extra force damage, which won’t transfer to your wild shapes sadly. You acquire the gauntlet from defeating Gortash.

8Boots Of Striding

Immune To Falling Prone

As a Druid, you will cast a lot ofconcentration spells. Both their best crowd control and damage spells are all concentration, and your efficacy as a spellcaster relies on you keeping them going. That can be a trial in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Concentration can be disrupted by attacks, but also by being knocked prone. The Boots of Striding are perfect to help as they make you immune to falling prone while you concentrate. Minthara has the boots equipped at the start of the game.

7Amulet Of Greater Health

Massive Health Boost

Druids are among the classes with mediocre health gain at level up. They’re not as bad as Wizards and Sorcerers, but they could use a good boost. The Amulet of Greater Health is that boost.

The amulet sets your constitution to 23, boosting your health by massive amounts, though just how much is dependent on what your constitution was before. It also grants you advantage on constitution saving throws, saving your concentration. Get it from the House of Hope if you dare.

6Shifting Corpus Ring

Two Spells On One Ring

When you wild shape, your actions are limited to what is provided by the form. If you’re concentrating on a spell like Call Lightning, you won’t lose the spell, but you can’t activate it either. The Shifting Corpus Ring gives you access to two concentration spells that have good passive effects.

Blur will grant you disadvantage to be hit so long as the spell persists, and Invisibility does exactly what the name suggests. Druids normally don’t get access to either of these spells, so it’s a good addition to their arsenal. Get the ring after defeating Flaming Fist Marcus.
